Must be that surface level gold ran out and prospectors don't the state level coffers to build mines
@Michaelonyoutub2 жыл бұрын
While mines might produce more, they don't produce more per person. Gold field have a workforce of 1000 people, while gold mines have a workforce of like 5000. When gold field run out, if you dont have enough people in the state, it can be hard to get the gold mines actually filled, so it is best to try to use the migration events and stuff to get migrants while the gold fields are still operating and creating an insane standard of living for their few workers, since it will likely be significantly harder when they run out of gold.
@alexandererhard25162 жыл бұрын
@@Michaelonyoutub I'm pretty sure Gold fields also have a workforce of 5000. So there shouldn't be much of an issue. However higher level production methods could be a problem if you don't have the qualifications for their workforce.

This highlights how little I knew about the value of customs unions. I thought it was just something larger nations roped smaller ones into as a way to increase demand for their product, but it clearly works in the opposite way to smaller nations can rubber band massively in GDP. Probably explains why it took me 70 years to do anything useful as Brunei lol
@lightworker29562 жыл бұрын
Well, it's working well for the video uploader here because his country has a high GDP per capita and high standard of living. Hence people are moving to Lanfang. Plus his country is already industrialized, which means that he can export the finished goods. But if you join a custom union with a poor unindustrialized country with a low standard of living and a low GDP per capita, then joining a customs union is terrible because your pops will move away and the big country will use your iron etc to fuels its own industry (while you'd rather build up your own industry). But while a customs union can be useful, I think the most important tip to new players is: build enough rural buildings, because they're quick to build and often profitable and they provide cheap input for your industries. I typically start by spamming rural buildings everyone but in 1-2 states, and only then build industry in those 1-2 states.

If you manage to sneak your way into a big market become the opposite of a banana republic and industrialise. You can leave gaps in the production chain if they're unproductive and exploit them by jumping ahead. You can totally just build arms factories without iron and steel plants if the market can supply it. Be warned that wars can disrupt that immediately.
@pohorex6834 Жыл бұрын
@@lightworker2956 nah, being in a customs union before industrialization is good aswell because it allows you to purely build high end industry, and not have to worry about the inbetween steps until you are ready to leave. you can massively increase your GDP and standard of living very quickly by just being in the british market and building the best tooling industry in the world

In my Lanfang playthrough i didn't see a reason to leave the Qing market quickly, since it's a market with high demand for refined goods, high supply for raw resources and of course an endless workforce, so as long as you're in that market you can endlessly industrialize and never run out of workers and consumers.

My beef with laissez faire is that some of the *very* crucial endgame buildings that you have to build like power plant can't be constructed with the investment pool funds. What this means is that you will have an ever growing investment pool which you just won't use. Interventionism is much better.

4:00 It does actually matter that you get to No Migration Controls. One of the Journal sequences (I think it's "Path to Socialism" or "Path to Liberalism" or something) requires you to have No Migration Controls in order to complete the last one where you get a choice of 100 prestige for 9 years *or +25% Migration Attraction nationwide permanently.* Obviously the latter option is preferable even if you decide to switch back to a very conservative and authoritarian state because the higher your migration attraction highs are, the faster your pops move around.

theres a couple stuff you can do on your own end that helps lag. editing files so that pops under 1k amount automatically assimilate, disable animations, install anbleed’s mod, do not have the population or trade screen open while you advance the game, reduce the amount of trade you’re doing, etc. but yeah, paradox created a game that you can’t even complete without an actual gaming pc

Is that electricity actually being exported? I thougt power worked like transportation or services, in that it is state bound and can't be transfered between states?
@OneProudBavarian2 жыл бұрын
As of right now, electricity is market-wide! This is why, while I was in the British market, I was able to monopolise British electricity production. When we left the market, both the British market crashed as I no longer was selling electricity to them and I had to severely downsize my power plants as you cannot transfer electricity between markets. But, at that point, the massive income of the power plants had allowed me to build up other industries like oil, that substituted themselves in for the lost electricity productivity!

For some reason, all the games I've played recently England just removes all its ports making every nation in the english market (including them selves) struggle to survive. All the colonies and england it self starts geting rebelions, and if I tap over to england to see what's going on, they are bancrupt several times over and tries to make ports all over the place and then deleating the ports as soon as they are finnished since they cost money 😅
