Myra once again showed her superior strength of character when she needed it most. Lou's attempts fail every time, even when she has some "so called" muscle around her, which just about sums up her character really. She is simply good for nothing!! Myra is probably the toughest, but she also is soft. I can't imagine Bea or Rita letting Lou get away with what she did. Myra just didn't use her muscle. Myra would complain Judy was too soft, but she was also pretty soft.
@Summer21.6 жыл бұрын
Markxxx I think it was because Myra let her emotions and conscience get the better of her to not want to hurt and punish the women aggressively, unless it was the last option, or even the only option with people like current villains, Lou Kelly, Frank Burke and Joan Ferguson. She even felt disgusted by what she and Geoff did to Frank Burke with his branding for raping Pixie, and even using Pixie's rape to get rid of Len Murphy, which was Joan's idea. Myra must have felt that her hands were tied with Joan's plan and that Joan made her think about the past with the dead male inmates at Woodbridge and possible future circumstances at Wentworth. Myra also didn't want to be top dog really, as she was happier and stress-free when Reb took over until she found out that Reb was manipulating the women and Myra herself. Whereas Bea didn't have anyone on the outside and she was looking at a 10 year stretch or maybe more. She did enjoy the power partly due to pride if she was to have backed down, and also because she cared about the women sometimes as well. Bea had nothing else on the outside, so being in Wentworth as top dog had to be her purpose in life, and her friends were her instant family, which is what Lizzie, Doreen and Judy thought about each other too.

You're joking aren't you mate? You from this planet? The 'jibes' were nasty digs at minorities who people thought were fair game for abuse because they were viewed as second class citizens. Let's not forget that homosexuality wasn't even legalised in all of Australia until 1997 (!!!) It went hand in hand with everyday abuse. If we look at what was going on in Australia back then, we now know that gangs of kids were murdering gay men in droves by pushing them off cliffs near Sydney, or attacking them in the street. I imagine someone like you would have been the first to complain if that kind of abuse and violence had been directed at you. The police couldn't have cared less at the time because they were just as nasty.

She'd actually found a job that she loved and was really good at, and the employer really liked her--practically a fairy tale in this world--and then everything goes to hell for her. I appreciate, though, that this show tries to be somewhat reflective of the real world--many people do come to bad ends, and some are fortunate. Somewhere there must be studies on the proportion of ex-cons who achieve happiness/success/fulfillment versus those that go to/remain in Hell.

Yes Ettie did help to raise little Meg when she was born in Barnhurst. Ettie and Meg's mum were best friends and of course Meg always called Ettie, auntie back then.

was a bit dumb to add ettie as a prisoner of 45 years as she also played Agnes Forster a dippy social worker (lets face it all social workers are dippy) but its sad to think pcbh didnt think we would remember her 1st role, so many character's have played different roles in pcbh, didnt any other actors want to star in this show?

It’s been done in other shows like Neighbours ,East Enders and Dr Who . For some reason PCBH gets singled out for it .

Australia has a relatively small population in comparison to the UK or the US, so it would have a limited pool of talent to draw on
