Ok, there were great tips in here. Specifically, where the jack is!! My sales rep didn't show me that.

Mine didn’t either. The service supervisor thought they didn’t come with a jack.

My Prime is a month old. It's running just fine. I'm hoping nothing does go wrong, but if it does I'm confident it'll be something simple. One question. Why are they providing jacks if they don't provide a spare tire?

Good information. We are having a difficult time pushing in the nozzle into the charging "pins" with our 2017 Prius Prime's plug in. It goes in but with some difficulty. A little easier coming back out. Any solid advice to restore back to normal? Thanks in advance.

about the gas, I'm more worried about the ethanol in the gas that will gradually rust anywhere it touches in the circulation system. What are your thoughts and advice for that?
@toyotahontas92963 жыл бұрын
Use public transportation.
@beebob12793 жыл бұрын
I can get 'real gas' with no ethanol. I just found it last week at a station. I have to check with my Toyota dealer.

So many good things here. Thank you. I love my Prime with one exception - maybe you have the same problem. My A/C drain tube keeps getting clogged by bugs (cock roaches) crawling up from the opening below the car. Small bugs will make it all the way up to the indoor air filter and do some not so nice things to it. They then make it into the cabin and leave traces of their presence. Big bugs will get stuck where the tube bends at 90 degrees right below the front passengers left foot. I literally have a box fan blowing on the padding right now as I found a way to pull the carpeting back and get access to the tube to suck out the bugs. WhenI did this, water came gushing out. The conclusion that I came to was that the end of the tube closest to the ground should have been designed with some type of stainless steel screen on the end that allows water out but keeps bugs from entering. I am searching the web now to see if something exists. In the interim, I'm going to see if there is some type of pantyhose-like material I can use. The flooding got so bad that my driver's side floor board got flooded as well and I am researching how to carefully remove the carpeting so I can adequately dry it out and inspect for mold. If you have any ideas on how to create a screen device, I would greatly appreciate it. I thought this might be useful for other Prime owners nonetheless. Thanks again for your video.

Mark MacKenzie Service department has no remedy?
@mackenmd3 жыл бұрын
@@toyotahontas9296 Thanks for your quick reply. The first time it happened 2 years ago, they said it was clogged by a snail, but offered no idea for preventing future occurrences. I am way overdue for my next regular servicing and will ask about a remedy when I visit them next week. I'm trying to dry out the car in the meantime. It happened year ago to my Lexus LS 430 and flooded the rear passenger floor board and they put the car on the lift and forced compressed air up the tube which freed the blockage and water came streaming out. There are numerous class action lawsuits against Toyota regarding musty/smelly/moldy A/C systems in general out there. I don't think it's acceptable for car flooding to be considered a normal part of owning a car. This is a design issue and should be fixed. Going back to 2 years ago, I called the U.S. Toyota headquarters customer service department to express my displeasure and they were nice enough to issue me a code that I could use for $150 in future service reimbursement. I thought that was cool and wrote this first time off as a fluke. Now I know it's far more than just a flooding issue. It's the reason things have been eating and shitting in my indoor air filter (I have photos, BTW). Anyhow, I will let you know how this progresses, Thanks again.

Are these common problems? My 2005 Prius with 200,000 miles doesnt have any issues like this. I'd be awfully dissapointed that a brand new one would perform worse.
@toyotahontas92963 жыл бұрын
No they’re not. I try to show things that people don’t know about, that’s all. Usually those things are troubleshooting.

@theadvocate46983 жыл бұрын
I mean if there is no spare tire?
@toyotahontas92963 жыл бұрын
If you buy a tire, you’ll still need a Jack. And there are other reasons to get under the car for service/repair.
@alexwk98302 жыл бұрын
Toyota designed the Prius for the customer to troubleshoot those basic problems instead of using a mechanic or technician.

Who needs a jack owning a Toyota Hybrid without a spare tyre? :-) Some of those tips also apply to other Toyota models like a Auris or a Corrolla. Luckely you almost never need those tips owning a Toyota. :-)))

You might need to get the car up to change a tire or just get underneath.
