Kinda bitter sweet when you think about how every one of these rust buckets left and forgotten was once brand shiny new and someones pride and joy driving it off the lot! Makes one wonder about the people that once owned them and all the activities that they was a part of such as high school prom dates! Dates to the drive in! The car a young couple drove on there honeymoon after getting married! Babies being brought home from the hospital! What summer family vacations they was taken on and kids hollering from the back seat are we there yet are we there yet?? So sad how time takes everything away....

That's what I think about everytime I wander a salvage yard. Sometimes when I'm in a yard and find a high vantage point to take in a view of all the vehicles, I think to myself about all the memories people once had in those vehicles. I also picture them all shiny, new and full of proud owners and families enjoying their rides in their glory days.

You can say that they are saving them by not crushing them, but they are being destroyed by letting them sit where they are as they are rotting away. In ten to twenty more years there won't be anything left of them anyway.

The grass is killing all those nice cars . Grass is very high acid and holds moisture . In time they will rust away to nothing . Great Video thanks for the memories .

Awesome 😜. There used to be junkyards near Albany NY that had stuff like that piled up. Divco milk trucks and 30s to 60s cars. That was back in the early 70s.

When I was a kid back in the 70's there were still a few old junkyards around in my area of Pennsylvania that were filled with old 50's cars, but by the early 80's they were cleaned out. It was sad to see them go, but I hope they were saved rather than scrapped.

One of these used to be near me in Connecticut. Acres of cars from the 30s to the 80s, mostly on the earlier side of that range. They dragged them all out, graded the land, and now it's just scrub.

The temp gauge in that old delivery truck was interesting...it reads from 100-212. 212 isn't high these days but thats where water without antifreeze would boil over. It also said "switch off" when it got that hot.

If you find anything for a AMC Rebel in there let me know. I could really use a driver seat, I have the other seats ready to go in just need that original driver seat, then the interior will pretty much be done. A hood and side mirrors would be great too. Basically cosmetics is what's needed yet. Everything else is done or ready to go in.

I apologize, I assumed to quickly with this junkyard owner but in my defense anytime I find a place like this the owner refuses to sell or wants ridiculous prices and just lets them rot... it really gets me going because this just makes the price of the cars that are for sale go up that much higher since they then become harder to get.. anyway sorry, nice vid.

I'm a Psychologist (sort it) and my thought is that the people behind those junkk yards are the saddest one, people that probably when they were kids they don't even have a christmas cause they were very poor, i've been that road but life is no static you get older and get chances, life is no what are you living now only. I love vintage cars (and clothing) but i rather share it that see it dying in my backyard.
