Thanks for featuring the 580. It was nice to see one sailing coz there are only a few videos on YT showing how it handles at sea. The level of craftsmanship on the boat is topnotch and just by looking at your videos, one could see the high quality of fit and finish. Personally, I love that galley down configuration because it really opens up that saloon and together with that forward cockpit, they form an expansive social area.

Another brilliant video Mark, thank you. I hate to say it, but i think the best all round sailing cat, taking into account quality of fininish, sailing ability and value for money...is the Lagoon 42 just in fron of the 46 on the Lagoon pontoon right at the very end!!!

The 580 looks like a very high class cat. On the other hand, it seems heavy in the water, especially compared to the Outremer.

We seriously considered the 510..but a rear facing nav was a no..so we went for the Xquisite X5...cue one recent motorcycle crash later and a plate in the Femur and a pin in the Tiba..cancelled that too...and my age of 60..we signed for the Silent 60..but at least we are still be on the water...sadly the Cavalon had to go...wife's orders.

Looking at the Norwegian flag sewn onto the sleeve of your wife's jacket. Is she Norwegian? All my great grandparents came from Norway. Plenty of cousins still living there. What is that on the back of the jacket? Something about sails?

Yes we bought it in Alesund when we were sailing to Lofoten in the north of Norway on a first cat Breinwave. Can’t remember what’s on the back have to watch it again myself
