Yo dude, would highly recommend grabbing a spray gun setup and coating the undercarriage in Fluid Film once a year. I'm from the Midwest too and it's by far the best solution I've seen for keeping cars from rotting out in the winter. It's a lanolin based grease that you can spray the whole undercarriage in as well as shoot it into all the nooks & crannies like inside of the door panels, hood holes, frame rail holes, etc. with a wand on the end of the gun, it helps displace moisture from the inside of body panels and dirt & sand will stick to it on the undercarriage which will neutralize the corrosive salts and make a protective layer that helps keep rocks and stuff from chipping the paint on the undercarriage. It won't cause moisture to build up like rubberized undercoating.

I would say the transmission is still very good. 12:18 out of all things I've done automotive related, removing a cigarette lighter port was probably the most difficult. I probably would have been better off buying a brand new one if I needed to swap it over to a new center console or what not. I'm rooting for you and hope the drive line vibration gets resolved. Completely different type of vehicle, but I had a driveline vibration on my '02 4Runner that was present at 40-50mph. Googling the internet I found all sorts of theories from needing to road-force balance my wheels and tires to needing to get the driveshaft rebalanced. Turned out the universal joint was going out and needed to be replaced, a $10-$20 part from AutoZone. I wish I was closer to those places you plan on stopping by. Sounds like lots of fun. Thanks for continuing to do what you do and sharing your adventures with us. @@PrizzaMikealso a slight misalignment in the driveshaft is often intentional to ensure the universal joints (U-joints) function properly and remain lubricated. Here’s why: U-joint operation: U-joints rely on a small angular movement to work effectively. If the driveshaft were perfectly straight, the U-joints wouldn’t flex, and the lubricant inside them wouldn’t be evenly distributed. Over time, this could lead to premature wear and failure. Vibration management: A slight angle also helps manage vibrations. Driveshafts are designed with a small working angle to balance rotational forces and avoid resonances. However, excessive misalignment can lead to problems, such as: Increased vibration and noise. Accelerated wear of U-joints and other drivetrain components. For most vehicles, the driveshaft angle is designed within specific tolerances (usually between 1° and 3°)

Hanging calipers can for sure cause vibrations, and if you dont know thats the issue and it gets bad like it did to me for front calipers, caused my steering wheel to shake violently but randomly. Get a infrared thermometer and after a drive, quickly measure your rotor temps. If one is 15+ degrees hotter than other side like mine was, you have one hanging up. When my passenger went, dealer measured it 40 degrees hotter than driver and replaced under lifetime warranty. 4 months later I started feeling the beginning symptoms i had felt 5 months prior to my passenger being really bad, I started measuring rotors, saw 15-20 degrees more on driver side, took it to dealer, and sure enough, they confirmed driver started hanging up! And while they were doing that, they found a suspension bushing disintegrating on passenger side and fixed that under same warranty deductible 😁😁

I second the ebrake being the problem! Everything you checked working towards it and not removing the rotor to see what's going on inside the drum had me dying inside! I feel inside it there's sticking hardware or like dude said the cable could be sticking. The rust on the shifter formed because where ever it was stored had high humidity. The water vapors in the air cause oxidation which forms rust on metal and mold on plastic, leather, and wood. Though the shifter was in plastic it was not sealed. This causes the vapors in the air to accumulate even more within the shifter. Whoever reads this and you are like me that store parts in your basement get a dehumidifier. It's totally worth it

Just for future knowledge, if you need GL-4 fluid and need it now, you can usually use Pennzoil or Valvoline Synchromesh fluid. They are very easy to find in stock at parts stores and are safe for brass synchronizers. It's a little thinner than 75W-90 but that doesn't seem to cause issues. I put it in my Mazda 3 in place of the 75W-90 GL-4 fluid and after probably 75K miles it still shifts great. It's also a good fluid to put in if you are having synchronizer issues.

Should get a CubeSpeed short shifter and see how you like it! I personally love the notchy feeling it has, assurance that you’re in gear/wont pop out of gear. It has shorter throw but not excessively short to where you don’t know which gear you’re in! Feels awesome!
@3gspares244Сағат бұрын
Was the vibration noise there before the manual swap? It could be the rear brakes, if you have some spare Z32 ones they can be swapped on for an upgrade like the GTT has factory One other tip if those front calipers at the end of the video are planned for the R34 you will want to check the caliper bolt size first and come up with a solution as Nissan changed this.

It seemed like there was an odd metallic sounding noise when you got the speed up. Some video of the backside of the wheel and possible of the driveshaft spinning at speed would have been interesting and possibly enlightening. It's hard for us to hear the vibration specifically, but you can hear your voice distort slightly when it seems to be happening.
