Hey, CJ! Kevin Malley here from Connecticut. This is amazing information and I'm pretty confident I can speak for all players when I say I appreciate you giving away powerful secret information others would usually charge for or just keep to themselves. I'm friends with Roger Lakotko and I've also gotten your knowledge indirectly through him, but mainly on the mental game. 6 years since picking up a cue and I have multiple 3 packs under my belt, a 47 run and 42 in straight in the same week, and 1 5-pack!

Also, your tip about down angle and up angle I learned from Larry Gendler and I was able to pass that knowledge onto a player and it completely changed her follow game. Everybody was telling her to stay level, but I assured her this wasn't possible in most situations, nor was it natural for the game to begin with

Not many people (average or beginner) know that on certain shots you MUST shoot the same spot on the OB that you use on the CB. I'm glad you brought that up. You showed me this at KBC or Peytons (🤷‍♂️) 😂 a couple years ago. If you haven't done a FULL video on that you should! Learning that has helped my game more than ANYTHING I've ever been shown in advanced lessons. 💯

@CarltonLassiter-nt1ls - "center" is relative to the shooter's perspective - they only touch center on straight in shots - not sure what you're not understanding, I'd watch it again, there's a lot of information in that video many players have not heard before.

I don't understand this because there are times when the tip is pointed off the object ball, but is on the required line to make the shot. In fact, SvB aims by aligning the inside edge of the tip with the outside edge of the object ball on most cuts. This tip must only apply to close to full ball hits

I only have about 6 months of serious pool playing under my belt, and I’ve watched tons of you tube “ how too videoes and I’ve watched many of your tutorials 2-3 times but I’m finally thinking I’m understanding the center to center and center to edge. I’m excited to try this in some warm up games before my local bar tourney tomorrow…. Also I feel like your way of playing makes things much simpler. I have a terrible time using ghost all and other aiming “systems.” But if I can get familiar with the type of cut angle, and how many tips left or right to make the shot I believe I will be much more successful at potting balls. Thanks for sharing your many years of wisdom.

I understand the concept of references. If you have a familiar shot with an expected outcome, that’s your reference point, and then you can adjust your cueing to travel the cue ball as needed.

I noticed on slow cloth I can get more draw by elevating a little. Your demonstration with the penny made me realize that the cue ball is probably getting airborne a bit eliminating the friction and keeping more of the backspin.

Yes that's correct And the edge of the cue cuts into the cueball more and creates more spin - the masse shots are prime examples of what the Edge will do to produce massive spin.

The speed for a pop shot also minimizes rolloff in less than ideal table conditions.

@@boogiemanspud That's a great point I was trained to hit everything firm and crisp because on the road we played on tables that rolled off....and many different cueballs, mud balls, big balls, metal flake balls, red dot, blue dot ...... they all play better with the PopStroke.....you know what I'm sayin.....the Game is the Teacher

Very nice lesson CJ, Thx and it's all true. I had a beef with J Barton on line and he was Stating that you could NOT get any draw from the 'level cue' lol.! JB is miles away from me so I had Charles Lakey demonstrate that that it was indeed possible but Charles up and Drew the ball all the way from the first diamond all the way back to the last short rail to the handrail. JB didn't like that too much you know how John Barton is laugh out loud😅

Yes it's best to use the Edge of the tip with an angle - I don't use a level cue unless I'm slow rolling a ball as a rule.

Why were there two sizes made, at least in vintage Brunswick tables and what size are championship games played on? I have the larger size 1913 Brunswick and love it. Can't remember the model name. I'm on a 9' Brunswick Gold Crown - there's 2 sizes of 8' tables but usually the 9' ones are the same except the rails are slightly different....yes, what I'm showing is not what players are used to hearing or reading - there's several levels of fundamentals and techniques, I'm sharing some of the highest level stuff....thanks for reaching out - Shoot Straight 💪

It's a totally different style but they achieve a very centered position - it doesn't offer the power of the pool stance though.

My local pool hall has two tables with 4 inch pockets. I had juat gotten used to 4.5" pockets and they went down to 4.25". And now I'm seeing 4" pockets popping up all over the place. I've played 3 times now on those tables and it has juat been horrible. I'm sure I could get it down just like I did with the previous two pocket downsizing events. But I really don't want to. To me the game just isn't fun going down that far. You cant cheat the pockets. If I were to guess my pot making success was probably less than 50% on these tables. I've talked to people that are just weekend pool players or even less tha. That. They like to go to the pool hall once a week or every couple weeks maybe just to have some drinks and socialize with their friends and every single one of them said when they make them all 4 inch they won't come back. And since the other tables in there are all 4.25" they all say the game just isn't fun for them anymore. I play almost everyday so I have the pockets down but for someone that's just a weekender it makes the game nearly impossible for them. They don't want lessons or to have to learn how to play the game all over again. They just want to have fun. I have been considering quitting if they go to 4". I don't know if I will or not. But I do t agree with the pockets getting smaller and smaller and the angle of the inside of the pockets becoming less anders of an angle. There are other ways to make the game harder for the pros without making the pockets smaller. AnywY. I have been enjoying your videos and learning alot. Tha k you. Do you have an opinion on the pockets getting smaller and smaller cj? It just concerns me because pool is a great hobby and should be fun for everyone. And not just the players who are playing 4 to 8 hours a day. I'm afraid we will lose alot more weekenders if they go to 4".

There will never be an abundance of 4" pockets because, as you stated they are too small from recreational and even semi pro players - I like them but for competition 4.25 is ideal for tournaments to fit player's skill levels. Check out my 3 Part Pocket System to play better on tight equipment.

Anybody can do any kind of shots you have to have a reference point of feeling of the pool stroke got to know the speeds of different shots,pool is about having fun, to learn the basics of fundamentals and mechanics of the game of pool....😂🎉😢😮😮❤

There are several levels of fundamentals, like cues there's a big difference between what most players use, to get champion level results you need to learn the highest level of physical techniques....or your game will suffer under pressure especially playing against world class players.

It's a regular 58" Bludworth with a BULL Carbon shaft that I just started playing with....it's awesome so far.

@@cjwiley1541 when you held stick out east to west it looked long to me but when you had it next to you north and south it looked standard size I have a carbon fiber stick I played with 20 years ago played for a little bit had to get a glove I have sweaty hands at times but went back to all wood stick you get less flex on hits with those coated sticks
