The leftist Smer party has a clear lead in the polls. And it's leader has pledged not to send a single round of ammunition to Ukraine.

Merkel admitted that those 3 law abiding states never had any intention of abiding by their word, their written covenant. Indeed i agree Fico is a catastrophe. But why criticise a country helping its own farmers? Ukrainian harvest uses pesticides which are banned by EU. EU farmers have therefore higher costs. Ukraine was allowed to transport their crops through Slovakia to be sold to Africa, not to Slovakians. I feel sorry for the Ukrainian people but i don't glorify zelenski. His demands just keep coming while he himself shows authoritarian traits - as said in the Swiss intelligence report.

If Slovakia will not even stand up for its neighbor against the Russian invaders, why should we in NATO believe that Slovakia will honor its membership in the alliance? Alliances are built on TRUST and UNITY but Slovakia is showing itself to be an unreliable "ally." The purpose of NATO has always been to guard against Russia. NATO is a military alliance, not a social club -- Slovakia has to pick one side or the other.

I'm not a 'NeoCon', I'm English. ANY support for Russia will only prolong the war, not end it. At my opinion, all co2 restrictions that are implemented in the west are strongly related to the Russia and their government who imposed restrictions for accessing national resources to the foreign companies and using natural resources for common interests of the Russian people. I see no dictator in Putin, but a great leader for the Russian people, a statesman. @@dnagd NATO is a military alliance created to fight against Russian expansionism. NATO is not a social club. When Slovakia joined the alliance back in 2004, they knew what they were signing up for. There is no such thing as "neutrality" in a military alliance. Also, claiming that Russia poses no threat is absurd and delusional. Russia is currently invading Ukraine, invaded Georgia before that, and Moldova even before that. Russia literally invades one of its neighbors on average every 8 or 10 years in attempts to expand its borders!
