I recognize that first house as being in the 2600 block of Wilkens Ave. - the longest unbroken row of houses in Baltimore. I remember seeing an article about this block in the Sunday Sun newspaper back in the 1960s. The original builder's son was still living and told the story of building that block of homes. He proudly looked down the block and noted there was not so much as one sagging building line or settlement crack. That's the kind of quality construction his father did back in the earlier 1900s.

Yes that is one of the unique facts I first learned from Mark before I started filming. They say its called the Deck of Cards I believe since it is about 52 houses in a single row. The fact that most of the buildings in the city are still standing despite some of the neglect is definitely a testament to the quality of work that was done to build these homes.

Nice video. Have you considered tearing out the wall as you walk in that has the columns in it? If not load bearing it would really open up the front room

Mark Owen didnt really comment on the pillars. I imagine he felt it would be too much money to rip them out. Considering that the renovation would probably already be overpriced, he may have been just saving any place he could

Good evening, I like your channel, I have a property in Baltimore I bought it at auction, and it needs a lot of work, you can recommend a constractor to see it and know if I can start to repair it, I appreciate your help.thanks.

Unfortunately I dont use General Contractors since they inflate the price too much (and I dont have enough projects to justify it). Many of the contractors I use for all the general handyman work are not a company, however I wouldnt mind throwing out contractors for some of the trades I use. I have multiples of each of course, but let me know what you need and I can make a suggestion

Is dumping leaded waste legal in Baltimore/Maryland?
@DevinMorenoInvesting4 жыл бұрын
Yes its legal. It just requires a special process in compliance with Hazardous Small Quantity Generators Regulations. Your contractor would be responsible for this

$2000 to replace a roof? We've spent $4000, and it wasn't even a rubber roof?
@DevinMorenoInvesting4 жыл бұрын
$2000 is the average price for a rubber roof here. Its the price I also pay. We both use Dave Wandel from Charis Contractors
