Extra tip on how to parry, maxed Thrust stand's light + 2x heavy attack will make you invulnerable to enemy's attack even without any focus points.

Great video. I have about 60 hours into this game and still in my first playthrough. I just discovered the mythical armor upgrade last night. I really don't like that you can't upgrade discovered armor though. My favorite armor pieces are the ginseng cape and the gloves that give you extra mana and HP when you find a will o wisp and soak it into your gourd. I think this is game of the year but I do have 2 complaints. Hitboxes on some bosses suck and invisible walls.... Oh and I wish I could upgrade all armor.

I had a great time with the game. It's my Game of the year for sure. But to be honest, I couldn't even beat it in a single play through. I'm stuck on the final secret boss as I refuse to continue on without getting the good ending, and with the summer ending, there just isn't enough time to dedicate to this. I'm tapping out, for now. Beautiful game, beautiful journal descriptions, combat is unbelievably fluid and stylized, 9/10 game for sure. Just wish I was good enough to actually beat it.

I'm using the loong staff which is craftable ng+ from 9 loong pearls, the loong set upgraded to mythical and the bulls mask. maxed out thunder damage and mana and ofc activate spellbinder and it absolutely destroys everything. only downside is 20% more damage received when in shocked state. that's plenty and more of a glass canon build.

Pilgrim armor damage drops off significantly after a sec and half post hitting an enemy, also super interruptible. Not worth at all imo if you prefer and rely on aggressive playstyle. I suggest everyone to stick with the end game wukong armor set in order to maximize crit damage for jangubang staff.

I would say do not try to parry in this game, you will have much easier time dodging out of the way.. these parries (varied combos basically) are really hard to pull

Pilgrim's is nothing, the only damage you can increase is the first light attack after running for 10 business days... If you try to land a heavy attack , the damage buff will wear off before the attack even lands. It's the bottom of the barrel armor
