The go-to channel for an honest Garage Therapy review. The final results are fine but the application would be a deal breaker for me. I can cope without scents but not that grabiness and ghosting. I think many people, me included, can remember waxes that were that unforgiving forty years ago and I never want to be near them again. I'm currently loving a ceramic wax that allows itself to be hurled on, left for ages and defies direct sunlight to affect it. Waxing for me Is the most satisfying part of detailing and I want it to be a pleasure, especially on a dark car. That's also the reason why longevity is not so important to me as I look forward to the next application. Very much appreciate the effort you put in to this one and your previous first-thougts video on this wax

Thank you very much for that feedback mate!!, really appreciate that!!, my outright honesty is certainly the backbone of the channel and it’s one of very few to be believed (even if I do say so myself 😅) If someone asked what I would choose between Alpha wax and Helios ceramic I’d choose Helios for sure!!

First of all, absolutely loving the intro music on this one!! 👌🏼 Editing is fantastic as always mate and I know just how much time and effort you put into that side of it 👍🏼👍🏼 As for the product, I've still to use it although I do have a pot so this is fantastic information for me - great application tips. Looks like it'll make maintenance washes so much easier... 😊👍🏼 Cracking video mate.

Nice honest evaluation, I’ve only used it on one panel to have a look at it and was also very impressed with the water behaviour. Always seems to be a bit of a trade off with waxes where the better they perform the fussier they can get so if you want those results got to put in a bit of work 💪🏼

Awesome video and always perfectly honest with your review! It isn't a product I would consider after watching this as for me wax is all about the process. If it's too much of a pain to apply and remove the chances are I would reach for something else. 👍👍

Just a top quality video Graeme👍 I didn't share the same results as you have when I applied it to my Wifes Audi. Over the six month period the car did less than 200 miles and spent most of that time parked on the drive. However I didn't wash the car at all over that time. So after the wax application the car was left for 6 months before it was touched again. When I did wash the car after that 6 month period it was totally flat. However Im not necessarily blaming the wax as you have shown that with a regular wash it has lasted for you. Maybe I give it a fairer try in the new year.

Thanks Martin! 🥰 I found your experience strange and also quite interesting that not doing maintenance cleaning could possibly do as much to deteriorate protection as thundering thousands of miles on a motorway , quite something to ponder over for a minute 🤣 Weird thing was you found it easy to apply where as I didn’t , and from the same batch, very odd indeed, but yeah do give it another go and clean it this time 🤣🤣

Excellent video 👍🏻 great production as well! Really like the format of your videos. Good visual perspective on sealant (Sigma) vs wax. I recognise the use case for sealants (less effort etc) but I really enjoy the extra performance of wax and quite like the whole prep process. Not used many GT products as a wee bit pricey for me compared to others that do the job I want but it does seem like GT are keen on user feedback to improve which cannot be said for many other brands.

Thank you very much 😃 it’s feedback like this that keeps me motivated to spend the time making these videos, it really helps mate 👍 I was looking at that swisswax in comparison to the GT alpha and it puts things into context a little as the swisswax is £900 a pot 😱 you gotta draw the line somewhere eh 🤣 On this occasion Sigma hasn’t performed the way I’d have expected though, I’ve had turtle wax products coding as little as £5 last longer I was a little disappointed in it if I’m honest

@@GMDetails EU regulations have outlawed the user of the fluoro polymers or something they used to have. Made Fusso coat stink but it was gold in its results. My results have been stellar thus far. Focusing on less is more in applying a thin coat and leaving to cure for a few minutes, checking if its ready to wipe off and then bam perfect

Good video this. I rate GT products pretty highly. I very, very rarely use waxes anymore to be honest, but if I do have call for it, then I apply with my DA. It's so much faster and you get a much more even coating, which is easier to remove. To be honest, in the "wax" category, it's going to take something literally out of this world to beat Fusso Coat in my opinion.
@GMDetails
@GMDetails Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, Fusso has led this longevity train for so long now it must be really tough to beat it not only on price but performance too! Another American idea slowly taking off is the waxing by DA, it would certainly be really quick and easy with something like the Ryobi battery polisher on my last video Extravagant purchase just for waxing but I’d go with it as my hand cramps up while waxing and it’s really painful , so def something I need to look into for the future 👌

Nice vid mukka . The result was pretty much as I expected tbh . I applied it to a bonnet on a daily driver 1 month ago. Its had two mw's and has been topped with Sigma v1 once (2 weeks ago) . Its had another mw today and its looking absolutely brilliant still . I'm doing a comparison test again ODK Pyramid Ceramic Wax. That's still working very well but not as good at the GT Wax. When I 1st applied it to my Alfa Romeo Brera its was a nightmare and I removed it the same session tbh. That was summer , looking back I obviously used way to much product and it cured in the higher outside temps. This time I applied it and the ambient air temperature was 12⁰ . It went on better, I used less and even though the ODK wax was easier to work with the GT wax is obvious well worth the extra effort. I highly recommend it to anyone, but, make sure you take time to take on board others application methods 😁👍

I think the nearest product like it was the original Fusso Coat, but for it behaving as good for as long it’s almost went beyond the remit for a basic ‘ceramic wax’ it’s actually behaving like a wax applied ceramic coating rather than a wax , but yes, worth the extra effort 👌
@r4mbo67
@r4mbo67 Жыл бұрын
It certainly behaves like the original Fusso however the gloss is far better and with a top up with Sigma its extremely slick . In spring I'm gonna do the wife's car with it , from top to bottom. It'll be well worth the effort 👌

I've been using Dodo Juice Purple Haze on the bonnet of my Brera and that's a fantastic wax , adds a deep shine and is an absolute pleasure to use . Used it on my Panther Black ST Focus too and it made the fleck pop in the sun and it looked stunning. Sold that to my son but the less we talk about how he killed it , twice, the better lol . I top the dodo juice up with BSD so the water beading is awesome. The rest of the Brera has AM Details Ceramic Sealant topped with AM Details Ceramic Detailer . Another pair of quality products. The Brera gets a mw every week normally but in the winter because of the weather it can get to 4-6 weeks at times ...... I wash my neighbours car for her too , she cuts the front lawn in return lol , and I use Turtlewax Sealant wax on that , the cheap stuff in the black bottle that ya can buy from Euro Car Parts for £8 ..... it gets a wash every 6-8 weeks as she's never in , and that stuff is as tough as a scrapyard dog 😲... really durable and puts some so called well known and expensive brands to shame 😲. Didn't think much of their Hybrid Solutions range though. Used it last year for over winter ..... didn't last 6 weeks and its a streak fest 😑

Great video Graeme, as a big fan of Garage Therapy products the panel wipe smells amazing if not a bit too strong. It did the job fantastic after I machine polished the car, this took all remaining residue off the panels, then 3CS was applied. I wonder because of your troubles, would it be better to apply this either very early spring or very late summer when outside temperatures are quite low?? It still looks a fantastic product though.

Thanks Paul, yes heat will play a very important role in the curing process , as I see online the ones having best success with it are applying in studios indoors, where it’s a controlled temp, it is an outstanding wax, when you think of swisswax crystal is hundreds of pounds as it’s packed with quality ingredients and so is this , makes it a bargain at £40 but the application can ruin the enjoyment a little, maybe you’re on to something with cooler days mate 👍
