I’m glad they handled it well. The two places I went, did not and I did not bring my truck back there. First place didn’t even get to welding in my muffler and got mad at me saying I need to book an appointment (I did two weeks in advance). I calmly had them check for 11 am as it was now 5 pm. They didn’t even apologize and said well what do you want us to do. 🤔 maybe do what you said you’re were going to do? Second place didn’t read their work order and just cut out the flapper. Didn’t install the muffler or remove the resonator. Waited 3 hrs for the first incident, noticed my muffler was still in the box after paying for a welded in magnaflow and resonator was in place while paying for it to be removed. Went back in and calmly explained I paid for a two services I didn’t get. They checked, apologized and 3 hrs later the muffler was installed with clamps and the resonator was still in place. I again calmly explained I paid for welding (said on receipt) and resonator removal. Both I didn’t get. $600 +. I said I was not happy and was not returning. Now I’m learning how to do my own stuff. Other people have similar stories in this small town. Being shrugged off because the business can. I’m not saying everyone/shop is like this but it’s common in my area.

I'll never have a muffler shop bend pipes. I like engineered, mandrel bent kits and tailpipes that use the factory hanger locations. I had a Flowmaster Super 40 muffler installed on my 2012 Silverado and bought a mandrel bent stainless steel tailpipe by Dynomax and had the muffler shop install it. Works perfect with the Flowmaster tip too. It's a 3" diameter tailpipe which fits the muffler and is larger than the OEM 2.75" diameter tailpipe.

Same thing happened to me 425$ for the worst exhaust job ever at every place they welded the pipe together it leaked they removed all the old exhaust hangers and literally welded new ones all down the trucks frame and the exhaust tips and not leveled at all and had a huge exhaust leak where they welded the 2 exhaust pipes together and ripped a big chunk outta both of them called them back and said there not sure if they could do it for free just depends on the damage and it would take at lest 2 weeks before they could get me in I just took it to another place that fixed all the mess for 70$ so in the end it all worked out same as you just gotta fine a good exhaust shop and not a shitty one 🤷🏼
