Beautiful knives! I would love one or two of these. If this man is 110, I want to see his face too. Amazing if he is. Great assembly line he has there of making more than one knife at a time. I loved this till the end when I felt really badly for the poor fish 🐠.

@@frisebichon1519 사철로 만들기에 내구성 똥망 도검이 나오죠. 사실 도검 기술보다.. 일본은 철 제련 기술이 너무 떨어짐. 쇠를 녹일 기술이 없다보니 무조건 두드려서 만드니 이물질이 많아 내구성이 엉망임.

@@pathesiar 사철을 가지고 단조 접쇠를 통해 훨씬 더 뛰어난 품질의 칼을 만든게 일본임 지금의 첨단 제련기술은 못 따라가지만 그 당시로선 엄청난 기술의 경지에 오른게 일본임 일본은 전국시대때 매일 전쟁이었음 무기와 전술이 발달 안할 수 없었음 반대로 조선은 임진왜란전까지 태평성대였고

@@pathesiar 그리고 한국또한 철광산뿐만 아니라 사철 역시 수집했었음 사철 사금은 해안가나 강가에 있는 나라면 어느나라 할것 없이 모두 채취하는 가장 기본적인 채굴법임 사철이라 품질이 떨어지는것이 아니라 제련 기술이 문제임 광산도 불순물 엄청나게 섞인 형편없는 광산 많음 그래서 일정 함량 이하면 채굴 자체를 포기하는것임

But if you really think about it, just like with the sand mass temper method where you heat up a mass to prevent temp fluctuations, if you have a molten medium that approximately liquifies at the quenching temperature of your steel, thats gonna give it a consistently good temperature for soaking pre quench. pretty ingenious actually.

@@hankatmaggies8819 so you’re saying whatever the molten stuff is, helps stabilize the temp in the forge? Interesting. I’ve heard of a process that reminds me of this where you place the work piece on a copper plate in the temper cycle for a more even temper.
