This is the best video, because of the thorough explanation, that I've seen for ANY vehicle component EVER.

Also, is a "check valve" the same as a "pressure relief valve"? How difficult is it to locate? Next: just to make sure, if my Altima has a check valve, will the high pressure and/or low pressure replacement cause refrigerant loss? Or is it "simply" unplug, unscrew, replace, reconnect (plug)?

@proclaimliberty2000 Unless I did something wrong I tried checking for continuity with a plug that has three wires on the problem vehicle. It didn’t make any noise so there was no continuity. I checked on a vehicle that has an operating air conditioner and when I did the test it didn’t beep so there was no continuity which makes no sense

Hi , maybe you can help me. I have 2005 Mercedes benz ml350 . I got a problem with the ac. When you turn the ac on the first time , it seem to work normal when it’s on low setting. But once you put it on higher setting , the air comes out warm like it switched to heater. If you try to go back on the low ac setting the air will still be warm . Do you think it’s the low or high pressure switch ?

Paul - to clarify, you would only have continuity on the 2 pin switch for example if it was a high pressure switch. If it was a low pressure switch, you would not have continuity until pressure is applied and the switch closes.
@theyrekrnations89902 жыл бұрын
unless the freon is removed there would be pressure

@broomad you are correct a low pressure laying on bench is open ,a high pressure switch laying on bench is closed

I have a 2010 Jeep Wrangler JK. I could only find one Transducer pressure switch on the low side. Couldn’t find one on the high pressure side… am I looking it wrong or does it only have one sensor?

Help finding it on my 2011 srx. The high as well as the low sensor.

My ac clutch is on off sporadically. I jumped the low pressure on accumulator and clutch engages and stays on. Air gets very cold. The freon is good pressure. Would the low pressure sensor be bad? Ill have to borrow meter to check but since the clutch sometimes turns on and off i would think getting accurate om reading would be 50/50.

I also changed the ac relay fuse

Sounds like it could very well be the low pressure switch. If it’s located deep inside the dashboard it would be money well spent paying to have it checked with advanced diagnostic equipment. Removing and reassembling dashboards can be hours of labor.

Great video! Thumbs up for sure! Just out of curious it’s what does it mean if any of the switches are open? Don’t they open and close depending on pressure anyways?

It's strange when we want answers and we can't find the right ones. This air conditioning troubleshooting is all about hits and misses. You would be lucky if you get the right component. In the end, users pay over their heads
