Procrastination only happens when our nervous system becomes overwhelmed. It experiences the fight or flight response. However, because it can do neither, it chooses to freeze. Here, I talk about working with your nervous system to make it work for you. There's no need to force things. In fact, this won't work, at least not in the long run...

Hello! I stumbled across your channel yesterday in a video where you discussed critical theory and your admiration for Jordan Peterson's approach to clinical psychology and really enjoyed that. This morning I saw your other video on the association between guilt, procrastination and lack of self confidence/esteem. That one was particularly powerful and helped energize me to get out of bed and start my day earlier than I have in years. Finally, I decided to watch this video before heading into a long 10-12 hour day in the office and wow. I'm at a loss for words at how I've let myself become so static for so long. Like everyone, there's so many things I want out of life which I'm only now able to see I haven't truly gone after; a realization that I can directly accredit to watching just 3 short videos of yours. The approach you take to articulate the human conciousnes and its challenges in these videos is highly insightful, however the methods and practical tools you share are deeply inspiring. With some brief application and internal dialog of these concepts this morning I sense a tangible shift towards improving myself. Thank you for using your time and research to put these videos together and available for free to anyone looking to better themselves. - Zach

Thank you Zach. I just saw your comment. I was very moved by your comment and deeply appreciate your feedback. I speak with authenticity simply because I myself struggled with this issue for so many years. It gives me enormous satisfaction to think it's making an impact on other people's lives. You're very kind to take the time to comment. If ever you have a question, feel free to reach out. Take care, David

Hey David, Thanks so much for answering my question! I‘ll try to focus on the longterm benefits. I think the issue is that we‘re told all the time that we have to work really hard and stuff so hopefully, with the help of your approach, I‘ll overcome that mindset.

This is so enlightening, I struggled with productivity for years since 2020 when I went to overseas to pick up my cat and due to lock down and this place let my cat out to the wild, he no longer wants to go with him. I was completely collapsed due to whole life of complex trauma built up. Motivation completely lost, all I did was disassociate and maladaptive daydreaming every single day, also got deep into spirituality, conspiracy and occult, which did enlighten me to a certain extent and I've gotten spiritual psychotic / extra sensory perceptive to the point of demonic telepathy. Which in the end I still think is all part of my journey. Calming the nervous system not fighting against it as you eloquently put it, is exactly how the so called inner demon or nervous system damage responds well to. Calm loving and supportive, like a good parent, not toxic shame, all those self critic and condemn, as in I'm so bad, I'm so lazy, I'm so cowardly, I'm so psychiatrically ill, there's something severely wrong with me, why am I so crazy and weird, why I can't over come trauma, did I just make up this cptsd illness to distract myself from life responsibility, or am I so scared of potential trauma again I just want to be a zombie and survive inside a no feeling body until I can leave this planet. There's nothing wrong with me, my life experience made my ego, my true authentic self is beautiful and perfect. It's easy to say but it's not so easy to feel. It's not words it's feeling in my body. I was so depressed and injured, I didn't go out yesterday and think if I stay home and suffer I will need to come out of my years long dark night of the soul and get well and start doing tasks and stop running away from anything in the past or wanting to even remember anything, I've been so injured I was even scared to look at my money or finance let alone business career and investment, I just wanted to be a homeless bum take a trip away to a different world / place / identity and be a completely new alter ego so I can erase the suffering and pain from the past. My yoga teacher was saying to me why I'm always so much pain and suffering I want to punish myself, she knows I do hardcore yoga because I like pain, she also seen me not eating or drinking for days and weeks continuous and pointed out I just want to punish myself because I feel guilty and ashamed. Yes of course I do, I hate myself, I hate the person I am now, I no longer can fight like in my younger days because I no longer have any reason to motivate myself because one more injury I'm done, I'll kill myself because I can't take any more injuries. I've ran out of life force energy/ prana/ chi/ connection to my inner child and authentic self. There is nothing wrong with me, or my inner demon. As long as I can love them unconditionally I can be healed.
