I think some ARMYs went off the rails but initially most were upset with his disrespectful responses to commentators who were upset with the video. In the snap shots of the convos you could see that commentators were being respectful in their comments while his were pretty bad. So that spread first and then quotes from the interview followed after and flamed it more. I agree he doesnt have to apologize for his opinions but as a public figure he definitely owed an apology to those he insulted in the comment section.
@Taewills5 жыл бұрын
blindingeclipse22 Agreed. I’ve watched so many of their videos where they’re apologizing for something harmless they spouted (most often Danny lol). They pre-record their apology for Christ’s sake 🤣. Just the fact that they know the audience will get offended to the point where it forces a pre-recorded apology irritates me. I think viewers should take this as a lesson & reconsider the amount of accusing / complaining they do in the comments.

Dear lord, another apology? If I didn't watch this video I wouldn't even know about all the stuff that you were apologising for. I would just like to say that besides getting unbiased news from you guys we also watch you to hear your biased opinions on certain topics since you are both Korean and "international" at the same time. Most of us watching are just international fans so our perspective is very limited. You, however, can see every situation/scandal through Korean glasses or through western ones. Since you speak English and Korean you can tap into both worlds and create a more accurate opinions than the rest of us. That is the charm of your channel. It's nice that Danny apologised for lashing out to fans on a livestream but don't apologise for having opinions. This is literally why we watch you guys. I will say that I'm one of the people that Danny referred to when he said he felt some people were beginning to feel fatigue with the amount of BTS news overwhelming the other K-pop news lately. At first I celebrated and was excited about every single mention, but lately some of it had just seemed less exciting and I was left feeling like "but what about all the other talented and hard-working musicians in the K-pop industry? All we seem to hear about is scandals and BTS winning more awards and breaking more records". I feel the same way sometimes after watching the Grammy Awards or Academy Awards when one group/album/movie wins a bunch of awards and many others get no awards or recognition at all. I feel for 'the little guys' that are overlooked or slighted due to all the hype going in one direction. That could just be me, but when Danny said there are people out there feeling this way, I agreed, b/c I'm one of them. So, I didn't find his comment unreasonable or off-base at all.

Before I saw the podcast, I saw people on Reddit flipping out over it, so I decided to reserve judgement until I saw it myself. While I disagreed with some things that were said (mainly about the historical stuff), it’s very clear that people either just unmaliciously missed the point or were purposefully misconstruing what you were saying. Regardless of who is in the wrong, I’ve noticed that when you say something and people claim you mean something else, you’re the ones apologizing and not them. Some people just want you to be wrong-to be the bad guy-regardless of if it’s just an opinion you want to bring up. I saw the thumbnail and since I didn’t like the person interviewed ( mostly because of their shoddy research /journalism, and lies) I decided to just not watch it and let my lack of view speak for itself. What a lot people were mad at was how Danny responded to a lot of well founded criticisms; to some people he also seemed a bit hypocritical or that he was blaming the fans for only support 1 kpop group. Telling people to f*** off and the like was rude and uncalled for. He’s allowed to have his own opinions but his response rubbed me the wrong way.hope that helps clear up some of the confusion.

Why are people claiming to be tired of BTS when they just blew up not more than 2 to 3 years? Why didn't you guys complain about Bigbang and other famous 2nd Gen Kpop group being popular for so many years? And why is it BTS's fault that people are reporting news on them every now and then? When they didn't even go to any variety shows or general events that much? It is okay if you don't like BTS, but trying to claim they are over-hyped or overrated make you look somehow. No one is forcing you to stan them and you are not being forced to watch their news. If you don't like it, ignore and go watch the news of other kpop groups or do something else. You are here talking as if there were no news from other groups or you were being forced to watch them. You are not a kid or an ignorant, you can easily skip on something you don't want to watch. What I do not appreciate are people like you who attack people based on their opinions. Instead of just stating you disagree in a calm manner then sharing your own opinion., you wrote a comment putting words into my mouth meant to belittle me. Just because I am not a fan of their music does not mean I have any hatred towards them... Also I am adult enough to know that just because I may not like something does not mean its overrated. And i am not saying you can't or shouldn't get tired of BTS or something else . It is the reason you stated for getting tired with them that irks me somehow. Because people have been saying this a lot these days, and someone else even said in the another comments above. Most of people are claiming they are too over hyped and they are being shoved to their throats. When no one is forcing anyone to watch their news or everything daily. That is why I said, if you are tired of them, ignore them and go watch other things, but claiming it is annoying when you can easily avoid it is like you are blaming BTS for putting you in that situations. When BTS are not the one promoting themselves left and right, why should it be their fault that people choose to talk about them every now and then? And me saying this doesn't mean i watch every of their news or stream all their songs everytime. I have other things going on in my life as well so, I come online only when I wants to and I go for the type of contents I choose to view. It is not every of their content that I like or I am interested in, such as BTS world or weverse. sumayyah adetunmbi Thank you for the nice comment explaining yourself better. In your original comment your words felt full of anger and In my view saying I look pathetic is an insult and was meant to belittle me and my opinion. I do not read any news on BTS. Cause as you said it’s my right to not view anything I don’t want. However, even if you don’t actually read the articles you can’t fully ignore them either. When I’m looking though titles of Kpop articles it feels (not saying this is truth it’s just my perception) like every other article is about BTS. One time I saw an article about how much of an angel Jimin is... I would like to clarify that I’m not saying that it’s in any way BTS’s fault. Also I’m not saying there is anything wrong with having tons of news articles for them. But from a non fans perspective it can get very tiring. That’s why in my original post I said it’s a tricky topic. People who are fans are super excited for every bit of news and want to share how wonderful they think they’re group is.

When all the drama from the podcast happened, I was annoyed with Danny's comments, but didn't feel like that needed to induce a mass movement to unsubscribe from the channel. I personally like this weekly news segment and other videos they do. However, his comments were flat out rude to fans in the comment section, and some of the statements he made were just completely unfounded. The one that really actually bugged me was saying that it's not the members that post online, especially on weverse. Like seriously? Try using the app for a week. The responses to the fans are 100% them and he just sounded so uninformed about them. BTS has accomplished so much because they are genuine with us. It just rubbed me the wrong way, it just sounds to me he doesn't know or care to know the members that well. So I get why people unsubscribed, but hopefully they learned from this experience. They shouldn't feel like they have to filter their opinions, but if they are going to make generalizations that people are exhausted from BTS or the members don't make their own posts online, you better back up those claims. I'm accepting the apology and moving on, but I now unfortunately just have a general dislike for Danny. Hope the best for both of you going forward.

I don’t understand why people were going crazy over Danny’s comments because this channel isn’t a BTS channel and it never has been a BTS channel, and DKDK has always been very open about their opinions. If people want to not watch DKDKTV because of their musics preferences then they don’t have to watch but claiming that DKDKTV is lying to their subscribers is completely false. It’s very true all over KZbin that BTS related videos get more views and Danny didn’t say anything wrong when he said how a main factor in making BTS related videos is its view count and how it gets more popularity in their channel. Anyways people are going to always have something to complain about sooooo yeah. I guess there’s nothing really that can be done with today’s cancel culture. 🙁

I did feel you needed to apologize for what you said on the chat but I've never understood why Danny needs to explain himself for giving an opinion. Also David there are people exhausted to hear about BTS. I'm not an ARMY but I like BTS. For me they're just one of the kpop groups I listen to. So for people like me openning Soompi or watching kpop KZbin channels and having most of the content being about BTS is getting old so honestly these days I just skip it. I wasn't a huge fan of their last album but I still listen to BTS often. There's nothing wrong in saying there are people like me out there. Also about Ronaldo. I kind of see both sides. On one hand when Messi came to my country with Barcelona he didn't play and people were disappointed for sure. However I think the difference was that people went to see Barcelona, of course they expected Messi to play, but it was never advertised that he would play. If I was korean I wouldn't be pissed at Ronaldo I would be pissed at the company who promised he would play but didn't deliever. I understand Ronaldo, for him it was only a friendly so if he felt exhausted or was actually injured even if it was minor he of course felt like he needed to rest or maybe it wasn't even his call but the manager's. His personality is a lot and I hate him sometimes and I love him some others so I can definitely see why people are upset.

@@annietamuk5405 I'm ARMY & watched the entire video, Danny did not once say we should hype other groups. I had no issues with what he said in the video. Now the guest speaker I did take issue with but as you know there's a lot of history there. My issue with Danny was his behavior in the chat. People misinterpreting him or putting words in his mouth just leads to people thinking we're toxic. I make sure I understand the context of what someone says before I cancel or put them in their place.

The whole Ronaldo thing is soooo stupid in my opinion...I mean like yes he has a „celebrity status“ or whatever and people spent a lot of money to see him but if he is unable to play due to medical reasons then he just can’t play. he is an athlete he has to make sure he is physically healthy and in top shape so that he can continue playing in the future. Having a fan meet or Playing for even 5 - 10 min when you aren’t feeling well can be sooo bad for you. To others it may sound like nothing but it could have bad consequences for him mentally and more so physically. Secondly it could’ve have just been a decision made by Juventus to just not have him play in this game. Either because they wanted him to rest or because he just wasn’t needed on the field. I will say In the case of a World Cup match he most likely would have played but this wasn’t a WC match. Either way I think the whole hate towards him is really unnecessary. In fact, hating on him for something like this will only make him want to avoid coming to Korea so yeah. Also the whole contract thing just seems so weird to me. He is a human being like the rest of us so let’s just respect each other :)

장서원 I totally agree. I’m not even gonna protect him or whatever but this is not the first time that Ronaldo has been having this kind of behavior towards fans. I guess to an extent, money and fame does that to people. Although he generally seems to be a rather kind person. But again we don’t know what is going on behind closed doors...for all we know, maybe He did want to play and interact with his fans but he just wasn’t allowed to? U know Juventus could force him to not do so. But idk I still think hating on him and anyone in generell is not necessary. :)

"Why did he chose the one building with these things"? Aren't like many of these buildings in Gangnam like that lmao Idk I feel like it's a shady field we don't know about because of its illegality of course so maybe it's not just the one building with these activities right

DKDKTV, the charm about your channel is to that you guys are honest. I like that Danny Kim is not biased and David Kim is so biased. The contrasting view between the two gives the best of both world. You don't need to give apologize.

The fact that some fans cannot take someone's opinions and comments in context and have to twist them into something vicious and hateful.... Danny, I appreciate the sincerity and the apology, but I really hate that you felt the need to say this and explain yourself as if you didn't say it in the first place. I'm glad that you will take yourself a little more seriously and your channel. Respect your fanbase a little more so that your words and comments aren't skewed. I like BOTH of you, Danny, David. I support your both. I'd live this channel to go as far as possible in the future.

so glad you guys are back! I was worried you might be scared away. I love BTS but I totally understand where Danny was coming from in the podcast. Thanks for braving the rude and sensitive comments.

None of those bands ever produced nearly as much music and content as bts has. (After Big Bang got their first Artist of the Year award they went on a 2 year hiatus) For all the work they put in, BTS deserve every moment of success they get. I'm glad BTS it taking a break for the sake of thier own health, though I'll probably be itching for a new album in a few months haha

You are one of the best channels, you will grow more in the future, losing some subscribers(fake fans) means nothing, we know you and watch you for reasons, keep up the hard wok guys we love and appreciate you.

they didn't lose many in the first place. they have 528k subscribers and only 14,925 unsubscribed. people always unsubscribe when they don't enjoy the content anymore. why waste time on commenting it.

I just wanted to say, I watched the interview with Tamar to see what the ruckus was about. I do not understand why it blew up like it did. I thought it was a good interview and had some valid and interesting opinions. I have even had some of those thoughts. I love BTS but I can see how some, those who stan other groups or non-Kpop fans, may feel that way. I am glad BTS exists, I hope they will be around for a long time and I feel they deserve all the popularity they have. Danny’s comments afterward were regrettable but sometimes we lash out in anger without realizing the repercussions. Apologizing and trying to react better next time is the right way to go. Your channel is a favorite of mine and serves as a great way to gain insight into Korea and learn new things. Thank you.

I understand what you said. I think, as it is shown, your opinions were taken out of context. One of the things people should accept is that everybody can have a different opinion, plus you live in Korea and you know what it is happening there. I like the way you clarify the situation, but I don't think is all your responsibility because, as I said before, your comments were taken out of context. Love to see you guys again.
