It's pretty to find a REAL mastering engineer's advices on youtube. So thanks for that.

I believe in experts to get the job done. Specially if somebody wants to put music on the shelf. There is no room for technical errors or shortcomings. Even if a newcomer is only looking at a very few projected download-sales. The product/the production has to be perfect. So, I like this mastering session. I would totally hire Michael if I had some material.

I compared the two files by volume matching them and I have to say I prefer the unmastered version. That's not a criticism of Michael's work at all. I just enjoy dynamics and mixes that let you into the music rather than push you away. Most music these days is over compressed, I guess you have to compete with that on some level unfortunately.

Jon can you recommend a mastering house for EDM tracks that would do it on a one-off basis without charging an arm and a leg? I'm looking for pro-level mastering. I would like to Dropbox a track, pay a (low) flat fee and have it rock. Thank you!

It seems he didn't have to do a lot to your track. It must have been mixed very well. Do you upload the MP3 master for live streaming on Soundcloud, Spotify etc? Do you modify it in any way to take account of different requirements - e.g. -16db LUFS for Spotify, -13 db LUFS for KZbin?
@Jonsine7 жыл бұрын
+Cucumber Lounge thanks. MP3 only for SoundCloud. All other stores get the 16 bit wav. Not modifying it the stores do it themselves
