Imagine going to bed at night and being like "Fuck, I forgot my phone in my home nightclub". Then having to walk for 20 minutes each way to go get it.

He actually owes $110 million for this project (the original borrowed $82m plus interest) and tens of millions ($33.6 million to be exact) to other lenders for other projects. All his lenders could force a foreclosure on this house and take it from him, which they are currently trying to do. Also the taxes on this property are a million dollars a year, I don't know if the property taxes are up to day.

This would have been PERFECT for a mini resort: 40-50 people at a time, movie playing every night, wellness center, bowling and golf, nightclub on the weekends only for people staying there, and a daily restaurant for 3 meals. It’s not like a full blown resort in Fiji or the Caribbean but it’s a nice luxury get away for a few days. Throw in a mini casino and “The One” would be a extravagant resort (much more than an average hotel but much less than a typically resort)

The mega-mansion known as “The One” sold Thursday for $126 million at a bankruptcy auction. That’s a huge discount from its $295-million listing price, even with a 12% auction fee bringing the total to about $141 million. So the Producer Michael followers were correct, the owner WAS on the brink of bankruptcy!

It went from $690 million -> $500 million -> $360 million -> $295 million - $126 million at auction. The home is incomplete and will require millions to complete. Then it will cost millions every year in upkeep and overhead. You would have to pay me to live there. Studios will rent this home for actors so they can throw parties here. Either that or some Saudi Prince will use this home a few months of the year to bring over escorts/instagram models.

Funny how big the contrast is between staff house and main house. From everything custom built, 12 foot lights, ridiculously massive rooms, ceilings, marble interiors etc. To the tiny hallway of the staffhouse, its modest interior and him saying you can fit 4 staff members inside a single room.

Exactly. I do believe that’s what they are going for. Something like a luxurious rental residential complex with multiple common areas, services and facilities, multi-family residence the owner’s included. Still a really bold move and such a waste of space, energy and resources without even the slightest idea of minimalism, elegance, actual warmth and aesthetics but this is what they are going for. The architect must have been either high or tied up and kept as hostage unable to interfere in this monstrous construction during its design. I can’t explain it otherwise. I’m an architect and this design offends me haha
