Do you think Teek and perhaps the Upcoming EQ3 game, if they will ever release it, will hasten server merges? It's just moving players to Teek from other severs, meaning the other servers will die a slow death if they don't do anything with players that have no interest in playing on a TLP ever again. That and if they are coming closer to actually starting to make EQ3, they will need to maximise profits by merging servers and maybe even shutting down EQ2, let's face it, even fever players play that, for sure they will at least merge servers even more so there. What are your thoughts about that, you barely mentioned the topic of server merges?

Teek one day will be merged with FV or Mischief for sure. I am certain they will do another clone server in a year or two to replace Teek. Sad thing about TLPs around level 70 all the TLP players leave and start over. Now Mischief had a longer run than most TLP and expect Teek to have the same experience but at some point people just jump to the next TLP. There is new TLP every May. And all the typical TLP get merged into Vox currently. Overflow servers like Michchief and Thornblade get merged together after the population dip. Once Teek hits "Current Level expansion" it will be merged also, to FV or Mischief is yet to be seen. With all that said for standard live servers, at this point I would suspect they are working to "mega" server all the old server like ESO does with just 1 NA server. With the changes made for Teek this would probably be possible. If I were in charge that would be the plan I would go with. Then you would just have Everquest Live give it a server name like Norrath or something + FV + TLP servers. Most Live servers are ghost towns expect for Raid Nights anyway. FV/Bristlebane being an exceptions. EQ3 is 5+ years out not even concerned about that atm. If they do it right it will kill EQ1/EQ2 mostly. I suspect it will be more like EQ2 than EQ1 as most players of MMO dont like EQ1 style stuff from what I have seen. I love the game =)

@@hammackj I hope that they take the best from both EQ and EQ2 and innovate on that, for sure use the Unreal engine seing that even hobby projects on EQ like Lantern and also another person used Unreal 5.3 and chatgpt. The Unreal engine is procedural, you can use already made assets to more or less just replicate even old EQ files, last video I saw was commonlands all the way through Innothule swamp to Rathe mountains and lake Rathe zone less (project Lantern I believe). Unreal engine uses partitions much like a disk to load parts of a zone seenlessy. In this video though (Project Lantern I believe), you had certain stops while it being buffered, although I think he said that he had not really gone into the material why. Problem is of any on the current EQ dev team has any experience working with the Unreal engine, I think we might hear at the end of the month something new about EQ and EQ3, on both servers and hopefully also some news about if EQ3 still is a non starter. If they are still throwing spagetti at the wall literally 😔. They Cheered for another 25 years for EQ and EQ2 (at Nipple Fest 🤣), by then most of us are either gone or in nursing homes "playing" EQ in our own minds 😅👍. If they don't capitalise on the EQ brand while people knows it exists, we might never see a EQ3 Game under Daybreak and those that own the whole suite of old outdated MMOS.

Are there any rumors of EQ3 using a 3rd party engine? Unreal 5 is, well, unreal.

I haven’t heard any rumors about eq3 yet. Unreal 5 would be crazy lol
