Very insightful video. It helped me understand my own thought process and how to improve it to nail a Product Management Interview. Thank you, Diego!

As always great structure Diego ! When it comes to Risks associated with launching anything, I would refer to Marty Cagan's book - INSPIRED. He talks about the following risks and i feel its worth mentioning them: 1. Value risk - Will users find value in it ? (in this example, whats the downside to Airbnb's brand value of something goes wrong) 2. Usability risk - how easy is it to use the product ? ( in this example, how can we integrate in the existing Airbnb app or is it a new app ?) 3. Feasibility risk - Whether we can build it with the resources we have (in this example, does Airbnb has the expertise to launch furniture or partnership with other companies and risks associated with this approach) 4. Business viability risk - Overall risk to the business / goals, etc.

Hi, Diego! I have been watching the videos in your handy playlist for the last couple weeks in preparation for a couple interviews in Seattle and REALLY appreciate the work you've put into these informative videos! I'm a senior PM in healthcare/clinical software development, but only 3 short years ago I was brand new to being a product analyst and definitely brand new to the role of a product manager. Thank you for this content! I wish I'd known about it years ago! I have so much more to learn (always stay learning!) as a PM and look forward to continuing on that path using great resources like your channel! Cheers!

Thank you for this... But there is no mention of Who the target users are... that generally helps you figure out your GTM.

Hi diego! could you please do a mock interview with this framework that actually states assumptions and comes to a yes or no conclusion?

DG, I’m a newly minted Senior PM and I still love your videos! Being a new senior PM does not mean you know all the answers, especially if you’re coming from a different career path. Thank you for your insights my friend!

Diego, can you give an example that go to market strategy will deter us from launching the product? Just wonder if all others make a case for the new product, why would we not do so because of GTM strategy?

Hi Diego, great videos....can you please do one on prioritisation excercise, how to go about it ? Without any of the internet PM prioritisation framework -- say you get a really complicated question between 4 scenarios - a customer quick win, a request to create a report from legal team that's important, a current feature just released that seems to have some bugs, a high priority feature that would release in next week

Great video, and as helpful as always! Do you have a framework to answer questions on how to create a go-to-market strategy? And what happens if you launch a product and it doesn’t see as much success as you had anticipated?

i'd love to see this too!

Hey Diego , how do these questions differ from the product strategy questions you covered in a separate video ? Is there an way easy to determine the difference so you know which framework to use ? For instance , if we look at the question “should google get into ridesharing business” then should you use the product strategy framework (competitors , 5 porters) or the product launch framework in this video ?
@manishsaraf97542 жыл бұрын
Hi DG, great detailing in the about solution. One question: given it is more of a strategy question, should we not consider using the 5 C's here or how to decide which to use in such questions, 5 C's vs the above 5 points?
@PMDiegoGranados2 жыл бұрын
The devil is in the details, Manish 😉. There is no perfect approach, but if you think about this framework that I shared, I talk about the company, competitors and customers as well. This framework mixes a bit of both - internal capabilities of launching a product with strategy. Like I said, there's no perfect answer so if you solve a question "should we launch X" with a purely strategy question or this 5 questions framework, you should be in a good spot. Let me know if this helps!

Great video as always. Do you think it is a good idea to touch upon the segments, pain points and how this solution aligns With their needs? This is provided time permits and if it aligns with the interviewers thought process. Also in the end along with the GTM, we can touch on the success metrics. Would want to know your thoughts on the above
@PMDiegoGranados2 жыл бұрын
Great question! I don't think you'll have time for all of that, that's why I recommend doing it as a separate case. If you are going to talk about users and pain-points then it becomes a product design question.
@andreacastillo12982 жыл бұрын
How would you handle tradeoff questions and talk about the opportunity costs? For example, you might choose to build feature/product A but this means you are deprioritizing feature/product B. Do you follow a prioritization criteria or do a cost v. benefit analysis? How do you talk about the tradeoff you are making and success criteria? After the fact, how do you know you used the "right" criteria and therefore that building A was the right choice over B? This is where I'm getting stuck :)
