I am currently looking for something to automatically close the event at a certain time every night. Is this something that can complete the task without purchasing the puck?

yes, it can work with those sensors as well. its an option to choose when you are setting up, I don't have any of those to test with.

I am trying to purchase this on amazon but it says the puck is required. I can't find the puck anywhere on amazon. Does the purchase of a smart vent come with the puck?

So the only function with these vents is that it open’s and closes automatically?

yes, and you can setup automations to where if that room is already a good temperature but maybe the rest of the house isnt, you could close those vents automatically and allow the rest of the house to cool off while that room stays the same. It would work out really well if you had them on all of your vents, than you could basically cool each room individually.
