Product Review: Hide-It Holster Ultimate Concealed Carry Holster for deep concealment. 2021-02-14

Initial review of the Hide-It Holstees “Ultimate Concealed Carry Holster”.
This is the direct competitor to “Urban Carry” but has a few features that make it a bit better for deep concealment.

I was impressed by the reviews regarding this holster, so I purchased one with cell phone case #9 to fit my iPhone 11. The first issue I had is that the clip on the cell phone case is too low and with the larger phone it is very sloppy and flops forward. I was able to correct the issue by cutting a new slot and rivet hole to reposition the clip closer to the top of the case which worked very well. My second issue is that I’m 6’ 1” and weigh 220. I carry a Kahr CW9 (small unit) and find that the holster prints terribly. I have spent a lot of time trying to break it in with no luck so far but will keep trying. My third issue is that with my Kahr CW9, holster, and cell phone, the combined weight is 2 lbs. which requires me to wear my belt tight, so my pants stay up and that makes it very difficult if not impossible to draw my weapon quickly.

Thanks for such a detailed review on this interesting concept. The idea is brilliant. I am making one for a Bersa .380 cc. Since the gun is really slim and with rounded edges, I think it will help with the draw procedure. The other two things I am changing ( as a handyman) are: I am using a bit thinner and more plyable leather and the the element attached to the pulling clip will be an empty two meter meassuring tape case. I just bought mine and was wondering how long did it take to break in? Also I’m having trouble drawing it. My firearm grip keeps going inward towards my belt buckle causing it to get caught up during draw. Did you have any similar issues or anything. Thanks and if you make the long term review it would be extremely helpful

It takes several months of daily wear to break in. I’d recommend breaking it in like a baseball glove. As for the draw, it’s about consistent reps. Find the best “pull” that bring the holster straight up so the gun doesn’t rotate.

For certain situations that require deep concealment, yes, I still do. In general, it's not going to replace a "normal" holster.

Have you've seen, or do you know of/about the "CELL PAL", holster? It's virtually the same, I've had mine for 10 years now, it's been doing good, you might wish to check it out. I've been seeing the ads for the Urban Carry G3, sort of thinking about it. But I've been looking at others also.

Thanks for bringing these up! Saw them a while back. I didn't go with them because the Hide it has a few different options for the clip area (cell phone holder and key hook and clip). It's a similar concept and having played with them a bit, if you're looking just to have the cell phone carry option, they're a perfectly good option, as well.

It woudl be pretty tough. the leather, when new, is pretty stiff. However, it's not "impossible". So, user, beware.
