What Classic Camping Living History really needs is more choices for authentically styled and constructed reproduction clothing. Nathaneal Logsdon at Logsdon & Co. has been consistently putting out well crafted and authentically styled Early 20th Century outdoor clothing, and he has outdone himself with this winter weight wool shirt.

Wool rules out here in the cold, humid, wet, pacific northwest. Nice shirt.

Wool was the preferred fabric for outdoor clothing for most of the 19th and the early 20th centuries. In lighter weights it can be worn in summer in most parts of the country as it will wick sweat and allow for evaporative cooling. Its just that cotton does a better job of that in summer. But for cold and wet, it can't be beat unless your primary concern is weight---and for most people, that's not their primary concern. Thanks for watching!

Good looking shirt. Good pocket and shirt tail, two things missing from modern shirts. If your shirt isn't showing dirt, hang it up to air outside. I do it to my modern Pendelton shirts as well as wool sweaters.

Yah, I have a bunch of wool shirts that see maybe four or five days wear over the course of a year, and they only get washed once a year.

Nathaneal sets high standards for himself when it comes to Living History, and it shows in the type and quality of the products he sells. Hard working guy, running a farm, working a job, raising a pack of kids. Looking forward to getting a pair of his overalls. Thanks for watching!

Excellent idea! It might take a few weeks as I have several video projects in the mill right now, but I'll cogitate on that and put something together. Thanks for watching!

@@sargevining hey if you ever get this far north let us know thru James or Mr Logsdon , would love to meet you! By the way do you still have those food haversacks that you showed us in your storage unit ? They were somewhere on a 20th century site ? If you do I would like to buy them both? Thank you … enjoy your videos!

@@1961MJS I'm busy gathering up a bunch of stuff that I've made over the past two years that were either made because I was doing an MYOG video, or something I made for myself but no longer use. They'll be listed here: facebook.com/profile.php?id=100092082552143

Great review. As someone who enjoys wearing reproductions of historical clothing, I am thrilled to learn of this new shirt and new-to-me company. Would eagerly watch any other clothing/product reviews by you. You allude to a chore coat source in the video - which company is that? Thanks!

Thanks for watching! The chore jacket I talk about in the video is one that was made for Nathanael by a guy who makes and sells Railroad type clothing. Its a special order item and is rather spendy, I'd not spend the kind of money he asks for them. The chore coat I currently have is actually Target's house brand Goodfellow & Co. and is surprisingly accurate for the early 20th century. They ceased production a couple years ago, but they can still be found on Ebay. Nathanael tells me he's working on overalls. A good chore jacket currently available is What Price Glory's 1885 Brown Canvas fatigue jacket www.whatpriceglory.com/products/9506-us-army-m1885-brown-canvas-jacket/ or thier 1940 denim fatigue jacket: www.whatpriceglory.com/products/7423-us-army-m1940-denim-jacket/ Both are styled well, but I'd go for the brown one myself.
