Product Review - My Honest Review of CARBQUICK Low Carb Baking Mix and Cheese Biscuit Recipe

After hearing so much about Carbquick I decided to take the plunge and purchase it. It is advertised as a low carb baking mix with Carbalose that is similar to Bisquick. Since Carbquick is made from Carbalose instead of regular flour it contains 90% less Net Carbs than Bisquick. I decided to bake with it and see for myself how it compared. I figured if I could eat a Cheddar Cheese Biscuit with only 3 net carbs how could I go wrong. This video is about my findings. The recipe for the Cheddar Cheese Biscuits is below.
CARBQUICK CHEDDAR CHEESE BISCUITS:
Yields 10 biscuits
2 cups Carbquick
2 oz. butter - cold
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 pinch garlic powder
1 pinch salt
1/4 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup water
Preheat oven to 450 degrees
Lightly grease a cookie sheet.
Cut the cold butter into the Carbquick with either two knives or a pastry cutter until the
mixture resembles course meal.
Add the shredded cheese, pinch of garlic powder, pinch of salt and blend well.
Mix the heavy cream with the water to equal 1/2 cup of liquid.
Pour into the dry mixture.
Mix until dough forms and comes together. I like to use my hands. Do not overwork the dough.
Drop the dough onto the lightly greased cookie sheet in approximately 1 oz. portions.
Bake in a hot 450 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown. (Mine took 8 minutes)
Biscuits are tender when hot so let lightly cook before serving.
They taste great when served warm with butter.
