I wonder if you know the plastic piece used at the base of some handbags, I need it for another reason but don't know what its called..the plastic kitchen cutting boards are too flimsy, I need plastic a bit sturdy yet flexible..not too flimsy and someone suggested I use the same material they use for handbag bottoms.

Nice bag! What is this kind of grease do you use for finishing edges? where can I find it? It looks like a pen with some cream or oil than makes the edges look smoother and shiny.
@NYCSHAKIRA8 жыл бұрын
+Sara Algaba Ligero it's paint, leather paint for the edges.

when you don't do stitching with hands, it doesn't count as handmade

does anyone know how to do the quilted pattern on a handbag please???
@cstrubes17 жыл бұрын
An ok bag but should not be called "handmade" at all. Cut the patterns by hand with a knife and not a punch. Stitch the seams by hand and not a sewing machine.... in fact, get rid of all the machines...then they can add "handmade" to the description.
@randominternetviewer1668 жыл бұрын
I dont call this handmade if its not hand stitched...
@mitrarasouli7 жыл бұрын
that is a very beautiful bag. But I wouldn't call it manual handmade if half the work is done by machines
@nizmojoeblows7 жыл бұрын
the processes involved are all done by hand in this video except the sewing machine. The other pieces of equipment are still operated by hand by a skilled craftsmen. A press isnt a machine. Sanding and burnishing edges takes forever without power. It still takes skill to use them. Anyone who works a stand alone leatherworking business uses what they have available and wishes they had this equipment.. These guys have production needs they need to meet and quality specs they need to meet within those production deadlines to be able to sell their product for what they do. None of this equipment has a program or a brain. Its all the person operating it.

I understand and agree with most of the things you're saying. A pressure cutter is a machine though. Nothing wrong with it, I wish I had one. But u can't call it manual handmade if the majority of the work is done by use of machines. There is hardly anything left that could have been done by machines here. Of course a machine can't do all the job all by itself. People need skills and knowledge to operate them, and that deserves respect! But u can't drive your car for 7 miles, walk 3 miles and then say you jogged for 10 miles.

Alexander Lyapin Yes, didn't you see hands making this? The best craftsmanship come from hands using tools. Very nice, quality job here.

You do realise how long it takes to hand stitch right? He/She/They'd be there for hours on one bag. It wouldn't be profitable
@hennamcswag5 жыл бұрын
Unitrip but that’s why items can e expensive. Like hand-stitched leather seats for extremely high-end cars. Quality + Time = Costly Product
