Hey Afrodisiacs! What products have you been using on your natural hair in 2023? :)

Please don't sleep on these brands. The brands I use on my high porosity hair and my hair love are Melanin Hair Care, Nature's Little Secret and Rucker Root. My hair clumps together nicely, no frizz and very hydrating. I have several brands in my stash I need to get to but these right here, works for me and I see a huge difference. If I was an Influencer, I would try to partner with these brands.

Thanks for sharing Queen ☺️ I've had a so-so experience with Melanin Hair Care - the products didn't wow me as I expected them to when the line initially came out. I also wish the products were sold in smaller sizes because for fine/low-medium density hair, it's hard to finish them up before they go bad. What are your faves from the line? I haven't tried the entire collection. Nature's Little Secret's DC's weren't my favorite. I wanna try some of their other products, however. As for Rucker Root, I've actually never heard of that brand before so I'm going to look them up!

@@AfroKhadisiac I agree with you on the Melanin hear care, that leave in smells like took paste to me so I’m hesitant about trying the rest of the brand. I like NLS and I’ve never tried Rucker Root but I will keep it in mind.

I have used castor oil and avocado oil trying to seal in moisture. My hair is HP due to bleach. The one and only thing that seals in the moisture for me is Blue Magic. I can wash my hair, deep condition, add leave in and then seal with Blue Magic and my hair will not have dried out in the usual 20 mins. I did it this morning and 2.5 hours later my hair is moisturized. Hair grease for my course 4B-C hair is the best

Hey Kyla! Thanks so much for sharing. It sounds like since your hair is chemically processed from the bleach, the Blue Magic is most helpful for you to seal in moisture. I'm so glad that you discovered this so that you don't have to deal with excessive dryness. Do you use protein treatments for regular maintenance as a part of your routine?

Have you tried Sprouted Curlies (sister brand to Shescentit and Curl Origin). They only have deep conditioners on their website. I bought some and tried the birthday cake dc and it worked really great for me. The consistency is similar to curl origin honey and hibiscus but I don’t feel any strengthening properties from either.

Yesss Teresa, CO is definitely worth trying!!! 🙌🏾 They have high quality products with really good ingredients. It's become one of my fave hair brands now!

Really?! 😱 I've only tried the deep conditioners from NLS. They weren't my favorite. Do you find the banana leave in to be strengthening at all or mainly moisturizing? They just had a sale too!! I signed up for their newsletter lol.

@@AfroKhadisiac the leave in was moisturizing for me. You know what is too much for my hair together is treluxe leave in and cream. My hair feels like straw if I put them together.

My hair is always dry. I'm trying different products, and none of it doesn't work. I use Aunt Jackie butter cream and Kinky Curly leave in Conditioner

@AfroKhadisiac you're right--there's a zillion of em, lol! I also luv the okra DC (it's a protein DC), and the passion fruit/flax collection--i think that one had a scalp scrub that was wonderful. I haven't tried the arrangement collection yet or the royal jelly.

It's really a great nourishing scalp oil with the Ayurvedic ingredients. I liked other hair growth oils from different brands but they've been re-formulated and make my scalp itchy now. This one doesn't do that. Usually for Black Friday, Soultanicals has a good sale. That would be a great time to try it out if you can!!

I've tested my hair porosity . According to the water in glass test my hair floats on top but knowing the condition of my hair ,it matches the factors of high porosity hair . Any advice please 😑

Same here but it could also be the surface tension of water. I had to tap it once to break the surface tension and it sunk instantly

Missed you too & glad to be back! ☺️☺️ I'm happy to hear that you love the hydratherma hair lotion! It really is super moisturizing. I've actually been thinking about using it as a moisturizer & sealant in one because it has so many oils in it. I don't even think a sealant is needed with it. As for the smell, I'm sorry you don't like it. 😢 😢 I wish more brands offered their products in unscented version.
