I spent around 14 years coaching youth football until 2019 and stumbling across then, Dr Steve Peters was the most important learning of my coaching journey. The Chimp Paradox is an amazing learning resource yet still, only scratches the surface of this part of sport, life, people🤷🏼♂️ Fantastic man. Anybody reading this that is interested in more, watch Dr S P’s Ted Talk on the Chimp Paradox 💯

Totally engrossed and only 10mins in. He has worked with the world's best and helped them get the best out of themselves. ❤️

Wow, this is so incredibly fascinating! I read Steve’s book a couple of years back and was something that I was really interested in. It’s literally mind blowing that football teams don’t utilise these people enough, yes they might have a physio for the body but why don’t they have a psychologist for the mind! It is definitely forgot about but is something that is vital. I experience a similar thing to you Ben with self doubt before a game and something like this would really benefit my performance. You can have all the ability in the world, yet if your mind isn’t on it you can completely lose all your technique. instantly. This couldn’t have been uploaded at a more perfect time for me!

I need this book in my life. I have a big tournament coming up and I have always believed mentality is the most important thing. This would definitely help me to try and get the best performance out of myself and maybe reflect onto my teammates.

Not going to mention any names, but a couple of guys down at Chelsea Spurs should try shaking hands again, then watch this while chillin ! So easy though, in any walk of life, if someone's "rattlin your cage" or "pressing the right buttons" to replicate Keane V Viera in "Tunnelgate !"

I've always used my chimp for turning up if it football or mma, I always scream if I hit the post or misplace a pass and after the scream it's gone.. I always put it down to hitting the bags and pushing air out my lungs but it's obviously my chimp 🤣 this episode has opened my eyes massively. I'll be buying the book 100% .. UP THE FOZCAST

I think it’s a great podcast. The rubbish he talking tho is comical. Even Steve Collins after beating eubank after using this said it was a gimmick. However if him and uri gelled can make us win on pens in wc lob the cheque book at them
