Thank you for this abridged version. There's lots more in the full version (9+hrs) but this is a great summary. Thanks!

An absolutely awesome self help book. So easy to read and so relatable. One of the most important self help books just about everyone should have. I've personally found it to be hugely insightful. Thank you Professor Steve Peters. 🙏

wow, this is remarkable. i especially love the section on 'I feel" this reminds me of how the majority of todays youth come to conclusions. it seems to be based around the term I feel rather than i think.

Professor Peters isn’t joking when he says your chimp can run your life, but not very well. Mine has been in charge for 45 years, and I have not succeeded at anything. He’s managed to keep me alive, and that’s about it. Hopefully I can learn to manage him before it’s too late altogether.

I'm addicted to drugs, overweight, been off from work for 15 weeks. 6 of them due to operation, 6 due to an investigation at work (was found innocent) now 3 due to stress and an addiction. It's ruins my entire relationship with my family. I hope this helps

my monkey has got me into so much trouble . it makes sense to me now because when I would have these episodes I didn’t feel like I was present almost as if somebody else acting out on my behalf . I won’t let my monkey be an excuse for my behavior I will from this day forward learn how to handle and nurture him to the best of my human ability

Had a talk on this within my cpd in my nhs job, I have the child version of this book and after our talk, now have this too. I suffer from mental health disorders and think that understanding my chimp will be invaluable to understanding myself and my mental health and behaviour

Chimp paradox seems to emphasize one of the most important topics In Islam , it is called the Nafs. The literal translation is self.. But every mention in the Quran addresses the Nafs as a second person . How to tame and nurture the whole purpose.. Now how coincidental is that 😮😮😮
