There was no Russian Empire when Kiev was the capital. This was another state called Ancient Rus'. Russian Empire starts in 1700 with Peter the Great. And Kiev was not even included

Regarding Ukraine, western policy went terrible wrong. I agree with professor Mearsheimer. Looking back in history during WWII, though Russia was heavily helped by The U.S.A, around 27.000.000 Russians both civilian and military died fighting against Nazi Germany, no other country recorded such level of casualties. A German high command officer said once, during the war, "we did not expected them to continue fighting having such high level of casualties". The thing is, Russians can take a huge amount of punishment during conflicts while Ukraine cannot.

the problem is 60b going to America manufacturing companies, it is not like go to ukraine, where ukraines can buy chinese system, where is cheapers and better in a convention wars. with 60b they can arm most ukraine army to their teeths, They are selling old F16 at 80m dollar each without weapons systems, they sell old tanks at 12m dollar each, they sell air defense system at 300m each or ever 1 b each.. people can buy chinese planes for 20m fully armed ,chinese tanks at 2m each and fully armed, each bullets cost 1 dollars, in china each cost 0.02 cents each. so 60b will goes to the rich banks and while 60,000 or 100000 ukrainians will die
