@LastNightDeatiny the issue is that we're in a sellers market where people selling are making more money selling the same amounts of goods generally. The issue is that buyers are negatively impacted by sellers markets, when prices are high people complain about spending more money for the same goods. When prices crash the sellers complain about profits, there's a swing between the 2 market styles but since puting restrictions and shitty policies that hurt suppliers and manufacturers it keeps the markets skewed in only one way

Reading a Wikipedia page is a lot better than only listening to someone who shares an opinion with you, and just slob on their nob whenever they debate someone who doesn't share the same opinion as you. 2:19 that was a massive self-report. Norm basically admits that he never objectively looks at anything, he comes with the conclusion and makes sure he still gets to the same conclusion despite any new info. That is not what a true scholar should be doing. Its hilarious the dude singing Norm's praise literally calls out Destiny as a Sophist who does exactly what Norm just finished describing himself as. And of course, Bri is just sitting there with a Pleasantville smile, not challenging a damn thing he says.

Ya. For instance wikipedia isn’t going to teach you everything about cell biology, but it can give you a pretty good idea that you need to look deeply into the nucleus of the cell and what dna/rna are, that you should look at the mitochondria, that you should look at enzymes, and that what the different things in the cell are. And then you know to look those up and learn more about them in detail separately with more detailed and specific sources. It’s a very good way to figure out the basics of the topics which is what lets you actually research it. If you’ve never taken a biology class you probably would have no idea to where to even start to try to understand how a cell functions, and likely first you’d look up something like “how does a cell work” and just read something like Wikipedia or Wikipedia adjacent to get an overview anyway.

Nobody is saying it isnt useful, but it shouldnt ever be used as a "primary source" you go to wikipedia, search a topic and then you check the sources used for the wikipedia page... if you actually look into these sources then you can find real data. The problems with wikipedia arent within the realms of basic science, its the more fringe topics (especially geopolitical) with bad sources or no sources at all. I mean, i had a wikipedia page made about my person that had an entire page written up about how i invented "fwench" and a bunch of other bullshit, it stayed up for years... i didnt make the article and i couldnt change it despite the fact that it was literally about me... i tried to change it and wikipedia asked for a source... get where im going? Wikipedia is great for the layman searching up relatively benign topics, but it isnt accredited for anything in the realm of academia simply due to how easy it is for anyone to make changes to an article as long as they provide _A_ source, it doesnt even have to be a verified source...

I was actually able to get one person from the NF side to pin point some of the issues that he believed Norm bet Destiny on, but it was based on assumptions of what he thought Destiny was thinking. Why did he have to use these assumptions? Because Norm was screaming over Destiny so bad that Lex had to break in and move to another topic. They do not understand how military targeting works, a pre-approved strike list, or how approval to use assets is different between soldiers in the ground and air strikes. I am pretty much black pilled on this conflict now. But it is nice to finally see micro aggression or is it called anti-Semitism, who knows.

The scariest part is that what if there was no Destiny. There is almost no one in the political left space pushing back against the far left and general conservative brain rot like him, and doing it successfully. A few so called "centrist" whom Destiny has talked to, and they're mostly pretty uninformed too, but less harmful I guess. All jokes aside, literally Destiny is the only political left leaning person on youtube im aware of the last almost 10 years (yes im aware of the orbiters that have brains like dylan, erudite, etc..)that with all his flaws has dedicated himself to getting people to THINK better while still being on the left. David pakman does not indulge in debate or wasting time engaging on topics his audience would spaz over. Although he has the knowledge, intellect, but less time also, to combat nonsense on the left and right. He has himself said he doesnt cover certain things because it would be too much of a headache to deal with saying something perfectly logical and rational, but the ideologues in his audience would just flood him for weeks about it in emails and comments. It shouldn't be the case that one man mainly, and a side cast of like a literal handful (1 of whom use to hate Destiny before she came around. B.Wu) are battling both sides of the political sphere, and its not just online losers since many of these horrible opinions have long since leaked into the mainstream. In fairness, if you were approaching a bad faith argument that used a fallacy that you knew was wrong based off your knowledge of the topic but you were struggling to pin down the specific place it went wrong you might say the same thing. A good example is those 1+0=2 proofs. Anyone whose passed 1st grade easily knows that’s not true, but if you try to go step by step, often you’ll struggle to find the specific thing that isn’t mathematically sound unless you have a decent background in math and proofs because they use steps that seem like they’re probably true at first glance and generally rely on somewhat obscure things that seem true but aren’t. Similarly, for a political argument you could believe that a particular conclusion is wrong but struggle to articulate and pin down the specific part of the argument that isn’t correct when the logical sequence is laid out if you’re not particularly well versed in debate tactics and breaking down an argument in that way and the sequence the argument is particularly sneaky. Giving Mr twinkledick a particularly generous reading, this might be the thing he’s trying to articulate (poorly)

The pressure to cut rates comes from the cost to service the national debt, the cost to businesses and home owners to take out loans. Part of the reason the market is doing well is due to the perception inflation was going to continue to come down to the target (this year), allowing the FED to cut interest rates and improve business conditions, leading to more growth. It's good to remember the stock market is not the economy, & a low unemployment rate is great but not if it continues to contribute to above average inflation. The 10/2 spread on debt points to the economy not being as strong as perceived. Equity markets are very susceptible to narratives (like AI & everyone assuming rates are coming down), debt markets are less vulnerable to narrative driven events.

The important question to ask, as far as housing "ownership" goes... Is not 'how many people are paying AND/or paid a mortgage, to own their housing...' But how many of these "owners" have no outstanding mortgage, and thus ACTUALLY own their housing. Now... That wording could be considered a bit loaded, so for transparency... from MY perspective, you dont fully own an asset, without first paying off its debt. Outside of ownership you're basically only recieving dividends, or an 'asset' to negotiate further debts with... More often than not, the law leans in favor of the party that owns the most POTENTIAL wealth, in a dispute. Therefore, because banks and housing lenders are also charging interest, you can pay off over half your housing, and STILL not be eligible for certain rights and protections that come with full or even majority ownership. (Which instead favor the mortgage owner). All the non opinion based factors alone, actually drops the "housing ownership" from a bit over 66% (not quite 70% as far as I've seen this year, but that could be outdated knowledge on my part) down to around just 25%. This is notably VERY low on the totem pole, compared to other OECD nations. Its ultimately an interesting, and multifaceted enough topic... That I'd absolutely love for Steven to do a research stream on it if hes interested 🤍

The pressure is for those of us who have to finance autos, homes, etc. I sell cars ..between rates being at a 30 year high as well as car prices being higher than ever before. Pre pandemic everyone had multiple cars for lease around 200 a month with little cash upfront and purchases were 350 to 400 all the time. Now add 200 month to each figure and used cars are up around 60% in my area (1/2 yr old cars selling for MSRP) RATES up 150% is making it nearly impossible to afford a car. FYI I live in Vegas not some small BS town.

The accusation of “reading Wikipedia” is laughable when these same people don’t even do the minimal level of analysis they expect from others. They would rather just watch a KZbin video (which is somehow more trustworthy a source?) of someone agreeing with them and maybe pick out a few points to parrot. Say what you want about Destiny, but he is at least reading primary sources, having conversations with scholars, trying to understand the history. This is like saying, “I’ll just cheat off the smart kid’s exam because they probably studied.” People are selecting a champion assuming they have done the work.

It doesn't matter, even if Destiny had a degree in the topic, they would then say something like "Destiny only has a degree, Norm has written the book on it"... Essentially they would try to invalidate whatever Destiny has done because in this debate they have nothing they can point to showing Destiny "getting owned". When whatever side someone is on loses in a debate they have to take the route of attacking the opponents credibility and personal character instead.

The pressure for wanting lower rates comes from numerous places. We want to be able to finance things at more reasonable prices, houses rn you get so much less house per dollar because the rates are insane this goes to cars, renovations, solar, everything. Existing credit card and student loan balances are requiring higher minimums so existing debt has become even more crushing. That being said, if rates come down prematurely and inflation is allowed to go crazy that eats up our wages and savings so it's a delicate balance the fed is walking I generally agree with their choices so far but I WOULD ENJOY a lower rate environment.
