Although I doubt rec room would ban a user for speaking up about it, I know it would almost definitely limit the capabilities of creators working with rec room, whether this is the video partner program or working on rooms to promote events within the room as well. Rec Room is smart about this, if you were to say something negative about rec room E.G “rec room is focused too heavily on monetisation over the players experience” then if you have worked or work with rec room (EG video partner program) there is a HIGH chance they will threaten the removal of your income source by removing you from said program. I can understand the idea that these users are given benefits by rec room and are supposed to represent the game and so on, but the fact they can’t have an opinion is simply just wrong, people deserve the right to say what they think without being threatened. Other than that awesome video Brodie thanks for raising awareness to this, doing the right thing alerting more people to this ✊

This is another REALLY good point i wish i mentioned, cause obviously "they might ban me" isnt gonna be the only reason people don't wanna speak up about issues. The idea that your participation in rec room programs like partnered creator and video partners could be limited by rec room just cause you criticized them in the past is a huge point as to why i this people may have not spoke up, whether it truly is something that could have happened or not.

this is easily the best thing a rec room creator has said, i have always stood by the fact that rec room is very lazy and way to money hungry to care about the creators and the community. but finally someone addressed this problem. really good video bro, keep it up.

Been playing this game since 2020, it was the best, at least for me. But now it’s just costume vibes games. The good games are never recognized, and the people that make the most money are the scammer creators that attract kids to buy their overpriced costumes. Been a fan for a while too, nice video and keep up the good work!

Maybe it’s just me and who I’ve been subscribed too but it feels like good creators have been uploading less and less frequently, and the only creators I can find who upload regularly or consistently seem to not have the greatest video quality… I also came into this video thinking that rec room’s greed began to take form once people had begun to talk about the forbidden one and they saw an opportunity with that but your case with the investors also makes a lot of sense. Maybe a bit of both, but either way great video. Maybe in the future you could cover what’s happened with Rec Room KZbinrs, if you haven’t done that already? I’ve also noticed that there was a brief period where a few creators did regular livestreams too, probably right after all those RR short videos blew up at one point.

its insane. they have been releasing items that we never supposed to come back. weeklys arent even weekly anymore. the reskins are insane. they told us that the weeklys would always be new skins only and they give us a reskinned bandana. relating to what you said in the video, the roomies were lazy this year. its insane how an unfinished room was a winner. in this state of rec room, its slowly going to start dying and they really need to step up their game.

12:25 Personally, I would be against this, and they wouldn't stop hearing it from me if we actually dealt some sort of retaliation to anyone just speaking up about issues they believe in. However, it is worth noting that I have never seen something like this. Usually any and all bans with more popular personalities have to do with legitimate infractions, and it gets really tricky trying to explain that because we're not supposed to be telling the world exactly what got someone banned. In any case, this has never happened. If it does, you'd bet I'd be the first one to sound an alarm.

Like I said following that statement, I do believe it's an irrational fear within the creator community that stops most people from fully speaking against things in the rec room community they disagree with. I know people who have wanted to criticize a specific part of rec room but don't out of fear of consequence. This is also aided by the fact that when most big creators end up getting banned in rec room there isnt a clear reason, so to us it looks like rec room can sometimes just ban people without reason.

Its hard to blame rec room about the greed, the player base continues to grow and with a growing community is a growing server count, with a growing server count is a growing amount of bills, but we still need to hold these companies with greed accountable and get their comment, this is a great video giving constructive feedback without yelling at rec room directly. they also said that invasion may be discontinued

Its so sad how far Rec Room has dropped. I went to a previous roomies event when they still cared about it and it was a great time (didnt get top 3 but doesnt matter). the new roomies was so rushed and it is a real slap in the face to all the winners who got a super short video announcing the winners. The roomies used to go on for hours and it was actually suspenseful. Now it just sucks. Do better Rec Room.

I'll add something from myself: -woke mini events like woman history month, black history month, pride history month but they forgot to add the month of white men who had the most interesting story -updates which fixed 2 things but broke 10 more - after a dozen or so updates, they still haven't fixed the mirror shake glitch reported many times on quest 2

@@BrodieGameplays At first it was exciting to even be invited to go to the roomies. They gave us an invention that had the invitation ticket inside 🎟️ and date. Until we actually got there, its exactly how you described. only a screen, groups of creators were divided into groups discussing if it has started or even ended. People were asking questions, laughing it off thinking if a host might show up. All the rooms were already showcased who had won so even then as the video was playing, people started leaving without question. Not many creators stayed, especially my group. We did win "Rising star" in the category "quest". Our room is called "GoldenNotes". We didn't even see our room up there along with others who had the same issue, only shown in the video. Later on that day I believe they literally spawned us in that same room with a host for an interview. I'm sure they did that to everyone. With no follow up on that, or even notice of anything after. Once the interview was over, that was it. We sat down for idk what reason and left. Felt like it was rushed, with little effort to promote everyone's hard work in their rooms. A lot of creators had lots of feedback to share on that subject, along with my group. A Couple of weeks passed by and they ended up giving us the trophy for our rising star and most of the rewards. Like the outfit, and tokens. Felt like a handout honestly but either way I didn't have a great experience at all...
