I recently purchased a used 2011 Toyota Prius that only had one key fob. I learned about Tom's key service, and decided to try it. And I just programmed two back-up key fobs, and it worked without any problems! I watched the video twice to be sure I was clear on the steps, then launched into the programming process, and it took about 5 minutes to program both new fobs and check them to make sure they worked. Great experience with making a FOB copy for my 2012 Toyota Sienna. Dealer wanted $120 for the programming, but I was able to do the same for $60 with Tom’s Key device all without leaving my driveway. Super easy!

It was easy and worked great once I got some help. First time I tried to program my new smart key fob kept getting Operation Failed message. Sent email to Tom's Key help who responded withing one day. Apparently my vehicle was at the max number of programmed key fobs, so I had to do the Erase function. With some trepidation, I erased all other keys, which worked fine. I then programmed my new key successfully! Don't know how much I saved over going to the dealership, but saved about $50 over going to a locksmith. Great products and service. Thanks, Tom's!

How did you add a new key, when you erased all your other keys? You need at least 1 to copy in the example procedure. I only have one working key and the other was lost by the previous owner. Am I supposed to erase my only working key?

1. In this video you showed us how to erase a key we have, but not how to erase keys we do not have. Do you have a video on how to erase lost keys? Can you link me? 2. I got to the step where I hold the existing programmed key to the start button, the car beeps, then I put the new un-programmed key to the button, and nothing happens. with great intrepidation, i tried this. watched the video at least 3 times. it went exactly like the video. I erased the keys first. only thing is, i bought a china fob. and it seems glitchy at the lock/unlock at the door handle.

I got the blue light on. Phone can see the programmer but the app doesn't show any vehicle makes like in your video. I tried to restart the process a few times but all of shows is the the lines for the menu, blue blank background and your logo at the bottom. Help!

I dont think the help line phone number works for anything but leaving voice messges. They say the "fastest" way to get a reaponse is by email somehow. To me, nothing beats a person answering a phone.

Will this show you what key fobs are programmed currently ? Can you delete just the key fob that you don't have without having it ? So, does it show a list of key fobs in the phone and allow you to delete without having the key fob you want to delete ? Can you backup the keyfob you have that works ? So i could have the information for that working key fob in a file to restore it ? I worry that if I am at the limit for the number of key fobs even though I only have 1, and I erase all key fobs, and then it won't add any back, I won't have a way to program it without having it towed to the dealership The software looks exactly like the 800 dollar programmer that looks like a tablet This has the same selections but just that one feature, for the keyfobs, where the tablet has hundreds of things you can change using it. This would be great, if it works, and I can add 2 key fobs in addition to the 1 I got from the dealership when I bought the vehicle. I don't know what they charge I have heard they charge 40 per key fob but that is not confirmed The other thing is the key needing to be cut. I have not asked about that either. It looks like this is a loaner service you uave. Basically you are renting the programmer and the phone and the security deposit is refunded once you return the programmer and the phone. The key fobs themselves I found online for 40 dollars each. I am guessing they are used. I don't have any issue with used as long as they work. So, if the dealer does charge 40 each, I am looking at 100 dollars each for the key fob, the pairing and the key cut, if the charge 20 to cut each key. I can't imagine it being more than 20 to cut the key. Does this sound right ?
