- ISTA-P 3.64.2.000 and earlier versions will work with BMW F-series
- The F-Series is designed to be programmed with ISTA-D.
- Newer versions of ISTA-P will not work anymore for F-Series.
- ISTA-P is designed for E-Series.
- F-Series with ISTA-D and ENET cable you can program only some modules, not all.
- For all modules you need an ICOM device.

I was in doubt because I saw that at the beginning when asked “Are you replacing any module?” you put "no". in my case I should put yes? thanks if you can help me!

Hello, thanks for the video, I just back from a BMW dealer, they said the software of my car is way too old, and this causes Vanos faults, their original description is "PROGRAM VEHICLE *TO START*(VANOS FAULTS/SOFTWARE ERROR)", can I use ENET+ISTA/P to update the module on my car, mine is X3(F25) btw, thank you again.

You can google those with words "Rheingold ISTA-P" and "BMW ENET cable". For programing; ISTA-P is designed for E-series bmw cars and ISTA-D program for F-series BMW cars. ISTA-P 3.64.2.000 and older versions still work on F-Series BMWs but later versions do not.

There is no holder. The Microsoft Surface Pro has a swivel support plate that fits comfortably behind the car's own info display. Sits firmly in place 👍

Does car battery charger supply 14.5 volts constantly for doing long hours programming with ISTA-P ? Many people have advised to use a separate power supply which can give constant power.

If you need to do several hours of programming, it is recommended to use a separate power supply which can give constant power. So far, for my own things, a car charger alone has been enough. 👍

I need to re-program my dme with ista, can I use this method? I can't find this version anywhere ;o and I don't want to spend £800 on a icom cable :/ f20 car

With newer ISTA-P versions, programming is no longer possible in F-Series cars. Another option for programming is the ISTA-D and ICOM device. China versions of ICOM cost about 350 € ...

You can try to Google it for example: download torrent ista-p. It leads you to forward 👍 Ista-d is the correct for F-series for reading fault codes, coding and updating & programing. You can use ista-p for at some I-level point with f-series also, but it is designed more for E-series.
