Programming a RNAV/GPS Approach in FSX and FS2004 with the Garmin GPS 500

In this week's video, we will pick up where we left off, continuing our flight to Middle Georgia Regional (KMCN) in the Cessna 172; programming a RNAV/GPS approach for runway 31 in FSX (real life it is runway 32) and landing.
I'll also show you a quick peak into Navigraph Charts, which I use for flight planning when I am simming on VATSIM. This will show you the approach chart for the RNAV runway 31.
Word of note: This is the lousiest landing I have even done in 20 years of flight simming. Then again, this isn't a flight lesson, just showing you how to program an approach into any airport in the flight sim environment.
In the next video, we'll set up an ILS approach into the world's busiest airport!

Hello and thank you for the video. I have a question how do you update the gps in FSX. I would really appreciate any help.

From what I understand, it is quite difficult to update the base navigation waypoints in FSX or FSX-SE. I use an add-on program called Flightsim Commander to create my flight plans and I am able to use my Navigraph subscription to update the navaid database when a new AIRAC cycle is released. Navigraph is $10 USD a month and I don't recall how much Flightsim Commander was.
