Begin with a guided breathing exercise before we slowly tense and release each of your muscles. This meditation will relax your body and calm your mind as you slowly drift off to sleep, floating in serenity.
Progressive Muscle Relaxation has been known to help relieve feelings of anxiety and stress, while also being used to treat insomnia and headaches. It is a fantastic practice, that leaves you with incredible feelings of deep relaxation, freedom and peace.
That being said, please be careful with how much tension you apply to each area of your body, especially sensitive areas such as your neck and back.
This exercise should not cause any pain or discomfort. If you do feel any pain, then you are either pushing too hard, or you are aggravating an injury, and you should be more gentle or stop altogether. If you know beforehand that you have an area affected by injury, then please be very careful, or avoid the area completely if necessary.
