Great questions and yes it is different from a HMO, SA is not a principal prime residence. They are sold by the night rather than a AST. Hope that helps

@@nolimits230 you don’t need a license for SA, you should change from council tax to business rates as SA is a commercial entity. Hope that helps?

What people dont understand is whilst you're expanding your portfolio and driving up the value of the housing market, it has a direct impact all the way down to rent on social housing, this is subsidised by our taxes to keep low incomes families housed. Besides directly contibuting to the housing crisis, you're forcing people to borrow beyond their means and driving Britian into further debt. Cause and effect is a beautiful thing.

Not necessarily. Imagine if providing social housing was left to the government ( public sector). The cost of sourcing land, planning and building council houses would be astronomical. Add to that the cost of managing council tenants it would cost the taxpayer millions. People like Dan actually save the taxpayer money.

@@Flozman1982 you said he ( investors) are forcing up the price of housing. That may be true but the positive to offset that is downward pressure on rents ( increased supply). And like I say if it's left to local authorities to house tenants they would spend a fortune. Private ( or small corporate) landlords actually save the taxpayer money. What's cakes and dogs got to do with it? To do with it

Housing market prices are being driven by the government not investors, if anti landlord taxes like section 24 were removed we’d see a different landscape
