I wash all rice regardless of origin for many reasons: 1) You don't know what rice he used 2) Remove impurities Rinsing can remove pesticides, dirt, and other impurities. This is especially important if you buy rice from a bulk bin or from a place where rice is sold in burlap bags. 3) Reduce arsenic Rinsing can reduce your exposure to arsenic, a heavy metal that can be harmful to your health. 4) Create fluffier grains Rinsing removes surface starches, which helps keep the grains separate and create a fluffier texture. This is desirable in many cuisines, including Asian, Hispanic, and Persian. Otherwise the rice can be gummy or the starches overcook before the rice.

Seems delicious

It's dry because the soup base probably wasn't apportioned properly for the two(?) cups of rice grains you added at the end. Regardless, I've made rice this way too, and I agree that even though this rice is flavourful, good old fashioned fried rice is more fun for the texture.

I love making rice cooker fried rice. However, I make mine different, and it is not dry. I make my rice like normal, though instead of 1 cup rice I do 1 1/4 cup water. I add 1 tbsp soya sauce, 1 tbsp oil (any kind - I use sesame oil), 1/2 tbsp to 1 tbsp of oyster sauce, 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp of sambal, 1 cup of frozen veggies (the peas, carrots, corn and beans kind), 1 minced garlic, 1 half med onion diced, 1 cup Chinese sausage (you can fry it up if you want), salt and pepper (put more pepper than salt). Turn rice cooker on. I fry my eggs separate and put it last. Add chopped green onions. It has never failed me.

only some chinese sausage are what you described, most can be eaten after steaming or even raw since it is cured

Add the eggs about 5 minutes before the rice is done, and they'll turn out much better

I think it's close to making claypot rice. When rice is cooked, then pour in the everything, cover another two minutes then serve

Use a Linguisa or any Spanish Chorizo or Andouille sausage which are basically red paprika sausages.

Main concern was the eggs, makes sense they'd be dry. Fun though. Thanks for doing the work so I don't waste food. Lol❤

Good video, washed the rice and did not bore us with chopping. 👍

Can u stir the eggs before dumping them in so they come out scrambled? Like they usually are in fried rice? 😅

You forgot to measure the amount of water that will cook 3 cups of rice. Usually, it’s 1:1 and you just cooked 3 cups of rice with 1 of water. Don’t expect it to be moist.

Bell pepper doesn’t hold well in the rice cooker Should still fried the egg Can go with Japanese route or Indonesian spice

Sir you didn’t add enough water. 1 cup water to 1 cup rice gets you dry possibly burnt rice and you steamed the eggs for 20 minutes. Are you serious? 😂

How is that hexclad pot? Is it truly non-stick with metal utensils?
@joan38914 ай бұрын
It’s great for busy nights, the office lunch room, or kids and dorm rooms but needs more seasoning, and oyster sauce. But there is no substitute for making fried rice the old fashioned way.

This is t supposed to be fried rice.

There is a reason they make the rice plain and add a side dish on top in order to keep that moisture.

I do something similar every morning before work. I just put a cup of rice in a pot, bring it to a boil and then set it to very low. By the time I'm done getting dressed, brushing my teeth, my lunch is ready. I'll just pack in in a box and go out the door. It's low effort cooking and it taste better than meal prepping.

I use a tin cup (with a lid). 👍 (But you only eat plain rice for lunch?)

Im Asian and this rice cooker dish doesn’t appeal when I also tried it, I fully agree with you that it’s much better to cook a fried rice, cooking time difference is not even far from each other, overcooked eggs in my pot also is not appetising.
@sarachan89329 ай бұрын
I would mix everything up when it is done cooking then add on the eggs and close the lid for a few mins and just let the heat cooks the eggs
