Is grigorovich a Russian or Ukrainian name?
@vsevolodburavchenko84008 ай бұрын
In Ukrainian it would be a patronyme (a second name of a man, whose father's name is Gregory), in Russian it sounds somewhat different. As a last name, probably Belorussian.

Saying that Russia annexed Crimea is like saying that the US of A annexed Texas. All their bases in Crimea had leases running up to 2040. When the Crimean population decided to join Russia by referendum, it was like crossing the street to another home. Khrushchev was Ukrainian and loved the beaches at Yalta and gave part of Russia to Ukraine in confidence that both countries were to be brothers forever. Crimea is host to as many as thirty different ethnic groups living along in harmony. When Ukraine allowed the Azov battalion to fly their WWII nazi ally colors the die was cast. Abolition of the Russian language in school and public affairs and the seizure of Russian Ukrainians pension funds plus the Ukrainian army raids in Donetsk and Lugansk against civilian population prompted a division within Ukraine. Things could and should have gone better.
Why would NATO give a fuck about the Montreux Convention to defend Ukraine which is a country between Russia and the Free World?

wat? This has only 12 VLS cells which is very few compaed to NATO standart 32 cells.
@billwhoever28303 жыл бұрын
@@louisr6560 you are very wrong the ship has 2*4vls for Kalbr or Zircon missiles (subsonic - hypersonic anti ship cruise missiles) and another 24cells for SAM missiles and no, the standar for NATO frigates is 16cells, some much larger frigates carry 24cells the difference is that most nato frigates have their anti ship missiles on deck launchers the Constellation class of the US navy is a 151meter long ship with a displacement double of the Russian frigate the Constellation class is actualy a Destroyer in more normal terms even if we acount the COnstellation as a frigate its probably the only NATO frigate with 32cells a good example of a NATO next gen frigate is the French FDI frigate which is equiped with 16 VLS for aster SAMs 1* 76mm rapid gun 2* 20mm close in defense guns 8* exocet anti ship missiles The FDI compared to the Russian frigate: has a better radar (THALES) has 1 UAV (+one helicopter ofc) has better stealth design has more accurate weapons (the 20mm and the 76mm) the Russians have raw power on their ships their anti ship missiles are larger and their guns are larger at close range the 5inch main gun and the 30mm gatling guns can be very lethal against enemy boats, planes, missiles and land targets compared to the lighter guns and missiles of the NATO frigates for comparison the LCS class "combat ships" are much closer in size and displacement to the FDI and the Admiral Gr. and they are equiped with damn Hellfires thats just a joke armatment for a 120+ meter long ship
@louisr65603 жыл бұрын
@@billwhoever2830 At first I have to admit a mistake, you are right it has 24, the wikipedia site in my language fucked up. But my point still stands. Type 23 class - 32 cells F124 Sachsen class - 32 cells De Zeven Provinciën - 40 cells Iver Huitfeldt -32 cells ......and many more..... Of course they are bulkier than Admiral Grigorovich but no one in NATO is building frigates under 5000tons anymore. Thats just the new standart. With the French FDI you picked the one oddball you could find, it´s not a good example for "next gen NATO frigate". And btw you can load the Mark41s alternativly with 4 ESSM in each cell for midrange, so the standart missile loadout is 64 missles.
@billwhoever28303 жыл бұрын
@@louisr6560 I get your point about the wide adoption of larger frigates but checking other classes and the total frigate count of each NATO country will show you that most operational frigates are either smaller or just have less vls cells Its normal for a navy like the Royal one to aim on Destroyer like frigates to protect the carriers and fight in the open sea, such ships are no different from a destroyer and the line is blured if you check the german navy for example you will see that they only operate 3 frigates of such a destroyer like weaponry en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_current_German_frigates and the rest of them are multiporpose and not armed to the teeth with vls cells the russians have 2 main type of frigates, the Admiral Grigorovich class which the video is about and the Admiral Gorshkov class the Admiral Grigorovich carries 8+24 SAM and has a displacement of 3600-4000tones the Admiral Gorshkov carries 16(or 24) +32 vls cells and has a displacement of 5600tones both have the same age and the reason why the russians chose to have 2 different sizes is unknown to me smaller sized ships have many advantages in future combat, you dont always have to compete with every other "frigate" to remain relevant having more smaller ships as long as they have a full sized radar and sonar means that they are harder to detect for the enemy and they can be spread out collecting data from a wider arrea
@billwhoever28303 жыл бұрын
@@louisr6560 also about the Germans and most European navies in general: they dont want to show off a big navy the Germans replaced 3 4700 tone Lütjens destroyers with 3 5700 tone Sachsen frigates they chose to call the Sachsen class "frigates"

@@furiousscotsman2916 Please check out the history LOL. After the allies could not sail through a straight, they had to conduct a landing operation. Due to the Montreux Convention Regarding the Regime of the Straits, Turkey is not allowing the passing of the NATO fleet through the straits. If a NATO fleet would force the straits, which would be open aggression, why would Turkey not attack it? Also, no NATO countries would force the straits.
