My grandfather was a successful farmer who worked his way up from a piece of leased land in the 1930s to owning over 800 acres when he died at age 83 in 1990. He used government subsidies to slowly grow his farm over time but his friend and co-worker, a black man named George, did not have access to the same privileges. It's sickening to me that black farmers are still treated so shamefully when they are the reason food is on our tables.😢

The fact that 95% of our families were farmers just four generations ago, yet fewer than 5% are involved in farming today is telling. Farming on free land, with free labor is what made the US. When agriculture became an international multi trillion dollar business, we were intentionally excluded from the market. Eliminating the competition is how they get ahead. They can't win unless they stack the deck in their favor. If this weren't so, why wouldn't they let everyone have equal access so that the best -man- woman wins.
@robertbocknek57612 ай бұрын
Your comment is silly. Big agriculture has been wiping out small farms, indiscriminate of color for decades. Government policies have created this. Al Gore caused a huge problem with his foolish corn strategy to make ethanol which even he admitted has been a failure. Don't listen to foolish Joy Reid who sees racists everywhere 24/7 mostly because all she has to do is look in the mirror every morning to find one. Get off the plantation mentality. You don't need to get welfare to compete. If subsidies are to be given it should be done without race as an issue.

@@lizhall2961 I was not aware of the extent of the transgressions against black American farmers until a few years ago. I did fact check some of it but admittedly not all of it, and showed it to a few of my friends, who were also unaware that all this happened in such great numerical magnitude.

After the last Presidential elections results were announced, it was disheartening that up to 70 million voted for an individual who lost. He clearly did not like what this country stood for, unless he controlled it. It is scary that anyone would clamor to divide the country or to get rid of the constitution, and still be supported. During the Olympics that ended a few days ago, the athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees and the Refugee Olympic Team, competed and were cheering for each other, and in several cases cheering for their opponents for great performances. The losers accepted the results, and some losers actually embraced some winners, as the winners consoled some of the losers. No individual, faction or nation clamored for breaking up the Olympics if they did not win, or like the results, or fully control it on their own. Everyone came together for a democratic and peaceful Olympics. The results were binding and accepted by all the very diversified groups, as being one Olympics body. As such, we really can do better right here at home, with healthy politics.

Most, if not all civil rights acts were written to protect the underrepresented in our society. Project 2025 supposes that in today's society, those acts/laws discriminate against White Americans and has created an environment where the White person can't receive a fair hand. What he and others like him don't get, is that if you are White in America, the playing field is already tipped in your favor, regardless of the restraints placed upon you by these civil rights acts. The acts were created in an attempt to level the playing field which in the end, only gave people of color a fighting chance but did not create an environment where the scales were tipped overwhelming in their favor. 2025 screams Jim Crow and Pro-Christian exceptionalism.

He’d lose most of his money, influence & protection instantly. Which would make him a failed old criminal on the run in Venezuela- worth nothing much to them. I’m sure he’s squirrelled away many millions in offshore accounts, but he genuinely believes he’s loved just for himself & what he’s achieved by these foreign dictators. But they despise him as a weak & easily manipulated little man. Without access to the position of POTUS or influence on the Republicans, or multiple $billions in liquid assets, he’s got nothing they want. Even the secrets & documents he stole & information he had are 4 years out of date already. And they wouldn’t woo him to get whatever money or information he has left, like they did when he was POTUS, or even since as a potential returning president (shudder) - they’d take it! By force.
