Very cool video, I learned on the fly doing a similar conversion. Took an SW20 e153 lsd gearbox and fitted it into a fwd 5th gen Celica along with a caldina swap.

Did this orientation of the shifter shaft work for you? I had to reassemble mine such that the flat part was on the bottom to fit the bellcrank

Hi, MWR has two different shift shafts. One is for 01-03 COROLLA/MATRIX/VIBE C60 and the other is for all Celica GTS and 04+ Matrix/Corolla. Do you know what the difference between them is?

so i need this but for the opposite direction haha. I have a celica but am putting a mr2 tranny on it. The shifter linkages are on the right side when the transmission is facing the engine. i need them to be where the c60 are, which is on the left.

What’s the deference between the 2zz gear box and the 20valve black top 6speed box

We've been trying to get the 6-speed Callaway off of the shaft and we've used penetrating oil we've used a press to pull it off and we've use a torch to heat it up and still have not been able to get that kind of way off any suggestion?

I just sent you another video from KZbin about how to swap out that shaft the guy sounds kind of nerdy but he has some pretty good pictures about reinstalling it and yes it looks like I'm definitely going to have to buy that kid from Monkey Wrench racing

Good job, I assume the shifter swap at the start is not necessary and is only done for a shorted shiftier length.

He's removing the Celica linkages because it's a Celica transmission. You have to reverse the gear selector for the MR2.

It does, but it doesn't fit the power band of the 1zz as well as the standard 5 speed, just as the 5 speed doesn't fit the power band of the 2zz

Interesting topic, but I really have trouble watching you work without appropriate tools. I have to turn it off . I know there is no more auto shop classes in high school . But this is really sad.
