For now the "Project CARS 4" is a project of a racing sim made by a studio founded by ex SMS guys with the developers of the old GTR games series and is in collaboration with Reiza (that made Autimobilista 2 using PC2 as base) to nake a game called GTR Revival that is not focused only on the GT World Challenge as the previous 2 games (when was the FIA GT) but has prototypes ans open wheeler race cars from differente epoques, they said that will be full moddable such as Assetto Corsa. I'm hyped for this game that lucily will be released in 2024 accoridng to rumors (announced at the end of 2022).

you don't have to worry, the developers left to make a new studio, with their anti modding views, so they can make another game. Here's hoping they don't follow their trend of abandoning their games after 1 year :/

We didn't "leave". EA shut the studio down, and people scattered. (Jobwise, at least - we still try to keep in touch.)

@@gargaj sorry I got my timelines and people mixed up, they abandoned pc2 a year after its release. A few years later they betrayed their core fanbase by making whatever pc3 was (oh and still not finishing pc2), then abandoned it 9 months later around that time codemasters was bought out, and everyone cried foul, but EA pinkie promised us, but EA did what EA does in 2022 but before that in 2021 the head, who I mistakenly called "the developers", left well before sms was shut down

There is a game called Automoblilsta 2 and the game is basically like Project Cars but merely focuses on the Brazilian racing series and other motorsports like F1, Indycar, Sports Car Racing, etc.

@@christheradar yeah unlike ams1 it doesn't have modding like pc2. The other downside of it is that it needs a lot lot lot more work it probably needs a new lead developer so they can start fixing many of the baseline problems that's keeping it at a B tier level

You can mod AMS2!! There are plenty of videos on KZbin explaining how it's done like Assetto Corsa. Honestly, the game is really good and fun. With or without mods, the base game features plenty of content to play around with. Single-player is solid and the multiplayer system is good from my experience. (Been playing the game since July 2023)
