Plastic baskets at the dollar store is great. I also bought a mesh basket similar to yours, but it was metal. After several months, when I was cleaning it out, found a lot of rust on it. Don't know if rust is good for fish.

I have a few of those plastic baskets lying around and yours is a good idea to put them to good use to add more floaters or shade in my wildlife pond. Thanks a lot!
