The mediation pillar is not just for the unarmed skill. Once you get it higher, you can actually mediate and get passive buffs for various things that can help in combat like 20% fire resistance so you can be resistant to fire in dungeons as many dungeons have fire. It’s very useful to have multiple mediation buffs on in higher dungeons so it’s definitely a useful skill to max to 80.

Enjoyed the video, thanks for the honest and thorough coverage! I’ve had an account and have played on and off since 2015, and I haven’t had an MMO experience like it since. One thing that becomes really apparent as you approach the ‘mid-game’ is how useful EVERY item is, and how overwhelmed you become by not only the amount of skilling for you to do, but also the interdependency between them. The pace very quickly picks up to the point that you will find it very hard to log out because there is an immense amount of stuff to do every single time you head back to the main hub, and you have totally valid reasons to want to do ALL of it. That’s when the direction became less about just grinding combat skills for me, and became something totally unique. I look forward to future videos, and highly recommend anyone who hasn’t given this game a try to hop in for a bit.

I'm not the best person to speak about an endgame - it's not raid focused although there are very tough end game open world dungeons. Since it's sandboxy, you can train in many different skills and build craft to your heart's content. There are various systems to learn and leverage many of which I have yet to even start. 🙂

Hangouts in Project Gorgon operate as ways for you your character to gain favor in skills with knowledgeable NPCs in the craft or to even gain rare items or skills. Before you log just look for an NPC that has the hangout option and click it and when you log, you will hangout with that NPC while your offline. When you log back in, that NPC will give you something. Often many times NPCs will progression style hangouts where you have to hangout with them multiple times to get more favor or extremely rare item in game that’s only obtainable from that NPC and because you hung out with them the 5th time.

In the tavern there Lana Songtree is the dance trainer, if you learn dancing. Anyone who is dancing near each other gets 5% crafting exp an hour just like how anyone playing music near each other gets 5% combat exp an hour. What’s cool to note is that the dance system is very complex and you can even gain certain special NPC dances in game if your favor is high with them. What’s interesting to note here is in order to unlock an NPC dance move, often you need multiple players to perform a synchronized series of dances near that special NPC to make the NPC do their special dance in which you will then learn.

It should be worth noting that Calligraphy another skill that’s mainly used for Sword to grant you combos like Unarmed does with Mediation also has many passive abilities for different skills if you level up Calligraphy. I often will stack Calligraphy Buffs along with Mediation and Food Buffs and you can only imagine how powerful you can become. (Note, there’s tons of rare Mediation and Calligraphy scrolls which unlock abilities that are rare to find and really make or break how strong you can be in combat for a duration of a few hours)

In this game, everything matters. Every skill is important to level even if youre not actively using, there is a system in this game called “synergy levels” other skills grant free levels to other skills. Allowing to bypass the level cap.
@MarleMMO
@MarleMMO 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah! That concept takes some time to sink in; are there skills that are beyond the conventional cap that requires you to synergize? :)
@HookahOtaku
@HookahOtaku 2 жыл бұрын
@@MarleMMO The plan for the game is to have 100 reachable combat skill levels. Then the real cap will be level 120. 20 synergy levels will be attainable per combat skill. The true endgame dungeon from what i understood will be level 100 - 120. Not to mention they can add future content where they can balance around level 100 - 120 ranges and not worry about grinding futher, unless the capss go up, but i dont think they planned that much ahead. So, level 100 soft cap, 120 hard cap.

Then there are Devtalk videos what explain our ideas and game more in News section. Thi sis MMORPG what will take 7 - 10 years. We are now start to building community and need content creators to talk about our idea. In this game as far as armor goes, the buffs go like this. Cloth will always give more power back for combat refresh abilities. Leather on the other hand is more balanced across armor, power and health combat refresh and finally metal is just straight armor. So when building your character you need to be aware of armor types and how many pieces of what that you want on in order to build the character the way you want it to be,

@@MarleMMO The buff associated that appeared on your screen was not associated with a piece of gear, rather it was a mod on a piece of gear that gave a buff. In which you'd have to look at each piece of gear to see if that mod was on it. In which the buff will appear on your screen if that piece of gear had that mod. Mods aka the green stats in this game is how someone is powerful and they are everything. A huge part of this game in endgame is using transmuation skill to reroll mods on gear to have the best setup as well as applying mods to a piece of gear. You can be max level but if the gear or mods arn't there, you will suck.

lol umm no. There is zero EverQuest in Project Gorgon. You ever play EverQuest? Project Gorgon you can almost make a character do everything - tank, heal, dps, etc. EverQuest is about grouping and interdependence between classes. PG is classless and you dont need to group at all even for the hardest content.
@MarleMMO
@MarleMMO 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Turn! Thanks for your comment. Yes, I played EverQuest from 1999 ~ 2003 and mained a human SK. In terms of its relationship to Project Gorgon and in particular to the presumed reference in this video, I make the connection between being careful while exploring enemy camps in contrast to Black Desert Online. If you continue to watch the series, you'll see how grouping becomes necessary (for me) with roles being interdependent (since my toon can't perform all roles). As you said, the extent to which these features are stressed are far less than classic EverQuest although their influence, to me, can be felt in Project Gorgon. However, you may have a different experience & perspective; that's great too. No worries. :)
@turinhorse
@turinhorse 2 жыл бұрын
@@MarleMMO Ya the "being careful when exploring" remains true... unfortunately not very long. Since you played EQ, this comparison will make sense to you - its as if Project Gorgon is like EQ until you hit lvl 20 and then you feel like a level 50 everywhere you go. basically there is zero balance mechanic - and i dont fault them much; near impossible task for a team of 2 people to balance a classless game. unfortunately the sense of dangerous exploration fades very quickly. I could be wrong, last time I played was a year ago.

@@MarleMMO And dont get me wrong. I really like PG and i agree its underrated. But after a short while you feel like it a grocery-list game - of another type, skillups. Lacks any coherent overarching design. As you note a few times. Random is the vibe in the end.

@MarleMMO
@MarleMMO 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Anxiety Online! Eh, I suppose it depends on how one defines 'dead.' I hear you and see what you mean (if one refers to Steam Charts) yet I think there are a few elements worth thinking about: 1) the degree to which a game is social. BDO has millions of players, yet I rarely, if ever, interact with any of them. Project Gorgon may have around 100 concurrent players, yet /every/ session, I'm engaging with them directly. This actually makes Project Gorgon feel more alive than other 'popular' MMORPGs. 2) Some people are waiting for graphical improvements & an official launch. While the verdict is still out, it'll be interesting to see population numbers when 1.0 is released. 3) I find it interesting to call a MMO "dead" while still in beta. What do you mean precisely? :) Looking forward to your reply,
@digitalspecter
@digitalspecter 2 жыл бұрын
@@MarleMMO Yup, I've been playing some kind of multiplayer online rpgs for 25 years and the most social ones were MUDs back in the day and now PG. It's very rare to have a spontaneous conversation with people in most modern MMORPGs... everybody's just running around and busy. In PG it's almost customary to at least wave and say hi when you encounter another player in the wild. Sometimes that's it, sometimes you end up having an hour long conversation, sometimes you go hunting together for a while or go beat a boss. That experience is so unlike other MMOs I've played and one of the strongest aspects of PG. So, to me.. PG feels much more alive than many other more popular games.
