They are both 12v isolated grounded alternators in series. Passenger side must be isolated ground, but the driver side can be isolated ground or not. That goo inside the connector is probably not melting, its just the crap they put in there to keep corrosion down. Nice vid!!

Thank you. I know alot about new GM vehicles and grew up around 70s 80s and 90s chevy trucks and camaros definitely took me a min to figure out this system.

Both Alternators put out 12v. Your passenger Alternator is NOT a 24v alternator. Steel Soldiers is the website for M-1009 knowledge

there is a fuse link for the pass side alternator that like to burn out it is over by the master cylinder
