Good choice jingles. I also have this tank 1:16 scale but I got the less detailed one but instead of having alot of detail it's remote controlled with a airsoft cannon. You can also get the full metal, very detailed remote controlled version but that version is very expensive.

Why Logs? Answer: Tanks can and do quite often get stuck in the mud. By placing the log parallel to the front of the tank against the tracks, and chaining it to both tracks, when you apply engine power, the log is drug under the tank. This propels the tank in the chosen direction. You must then unchain the log when it gets to the back of the tank to keep it from hitting the hull and damaging the tracks. Repeat the process until the vehicle is unstuck. It's a pain, I've had to do it myself.

Hey jingles, there is supposed to be a small pin that holds the machine gun in place on the ring mount. if you are feeling particularly crafty, you can use a staple and bend it around or a thumbtack needle.

For the MG-34 mounting on that bracket, it looks as though there is a pin that you slide through the two holes on the bracket and through the eyelet on the gun to actually secure it into place.

Jingles, on the turret MG& the mount it looks like there are holes to put a little stick in there to fix those all together and still have an up-down movement.

There's also a 1:16 King Tiger you should look into. It has a full interior, both the turret and hull, with a ton of shells for the gun as well. I'm assuming it's rather rare and extremely expensive, though.

Jingles, just go out to a hardware store buy a tiny little dowel to fit the holes in the the MG ring and the MG mount but paint it beige first so it fits the color.

Very nice tank, Jingles. When you were naming the tools on the front, I noticed that you skipped two of the largest parts, which were already on the model: the left one is a jack block, used to stabilise the jack (which is probably located on the rear of the tank). The other is a connector hook for the towing cables. I just though you might wanted to know.

The machine gun sertainly looks like it should be attached by some small axis. They are holes for it on the mount and it seems to be one under the barrel as well, but I'm not sure from this level of zoom. Are you sure you don't miss the tiny piece that the axis will be somewhere in the packaging?

One minor correction. What you called the Gunners hatch is actually the loaders hatch since the gunner sits between the legs of the commander they use the same hatch.

Jingles the MG mounted on the commanders hatch was usually removed as I have heard on later model tigers. Maybe you could just skip the MG all together? Just an idea.

A ittle late but hey, half way along the MG barrel look to be two pins which should fit into the holes on the bracket, the gun is way too far forward as it is, the stock has to fit into the gunners shoulder. Is the tank mostly plastic or metal? Great channel

Why is a log kept on the side of the tank? Traction in the mud? Why would a "static display model" have need for a working suspension? Seems like money that could've been diverted to better quality accessories on the model like the machine gun you mentioned.

I gotta admit, that Tiger was smaller than I expected. Then again, I have Tiger I, Tiger II and a Panther in 1/72 scale and the Tiger I is the smallest of them all (wider than a parter, but shorter both in length and height), so maybe that was to be expected...

Hey Jingles, I know it's kind of a cheap fix, but you can of course always simply glue the machine gun onto the gun mount on the commander's ring :) It's not like the machine gun is going to be taken off constantly. Great video, I always look forwards to watching your videos :D

This one looks much more plasticky and "new" compared to the Sherman, which had some nice mud/weathering effects on it. Just look at the top of the turret and the upper glacis. Perfectly smooth, too smooth.

that is a beautiful model. yet, i agree with jingles on the point that something as expensive as 300 pounds should not have faulty parts. i would have contacted the manufacturer and explained that the hatch mg mounting was faulty. whether this was a mistake at casting level or a design flaw, i would have asked them to send a working replacement part never the less.

Hey Jingles, if you just hang a big white sheet or a big piece of white styrofoam to your right, it will bounce a lot of the windowlight back and fill in the shadows. Won't cost you much (if anything) and will make your vids look brighter and better. Put it as close to you as you can without it being seen on camera.. Or stick those pieces of styrofoam that just fell out of the tiger box to your room door and open the door to 90 degrees. Job done.
