Great job! My 2010 Multi got ridden hard and mostly never cleaned. Solved it by buying a new one.

Really good work! Mine never shined like yours :D ! . I suggest to not soak the dashboard, their main fault is that they leak a bit (actually I think it happens with pressurize water, but better safe than sorry) and bak-lit up the green lights like the neutral and the other around. I changed a dashboard for this, and always used a plastic bag on it while cleaning to prevent it to happen again.

Congrats, great job! I always used (where suitable): 1. Kerosene + soap + clean water: or 2. Contact cleaner. Cheers mate.

I also noticed the BMW motorcycle in the most recent videos. Have you got anything planned video-wise for that? As the owner of a 2007 F800 ST I'd be very interested. If I had any skills/patience in video making I would have documented the F800 engine swap I did this summer; not too difficult a job. I've got an automated search on cycletrader for a used R1100S and would love to hear about your experience with these airheads.

I think I'll do a video on it after the Ducati is finished. I bought the BMW earlier this year and quickly went through the maintenance on it (no video) because I wanted it ready for riding season. Look for some vids in the next month or two.

Stupid question perhaps, but is the bike cleaner that you spray on already diluted/mixed with water, or do you use it pure? I've only used the S100 total bike cleaner (clear bottles with yellow liquid), and that stuff needs to be washed off with lots of water otherwise it can leave nasty stains or foul your metal. Not something I would attempt outside of a car wash.

Do you pressure wash your bike?

hello what's the name of the cleaner you use to clean the bike? the one inside the pink bottle ... thanks and great video.
@PracticalEnthusiast3 жыл бұрын
The pink bottle is just water. But the cleaner I used is called S100. There's a link to it in the description.

Awesome video. Which liquid did you use for the abs module and battery area? I was afraid those area and inside the timing belt area weren't made to be waterproof. thanks in advance.
@PracticalEnthusiast3 жыл бұрын
The cleaner I'm using is S100 and then rinsing it off with water. You won't cause any harm to electronics as long as you aren't using a high pressure stream of water. I wouldn't recommend getting the timing belts wet, but if you are replacing them then it's fine to get that area wet when cleaning.

Just bought a very dirty, deposited multistrada. This will help so much. THANK YOU. What are your thoughts on spraying the whole bike down? There are so many electronics I am a bit worried
@PracticalEnthusiast3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't used a pressure washer to spray it down, but a garden hose would be fine. I've done it before and had no issues. All the connectors are waterproof so long as it isn't a pressurized stream hitting them.

@@PracticalEnthusiast thanks for the reply. I grabbed a low pressure insecticide sprayer and some chemical this afternoon. Got a long job ahead of me 🤣

man i love your videos. just stepped by the valve adjustment one, and i must admit you have some balls... i thought it would be far more easier. Ive been watching this bikes here in europe, im slightly afraid to get my hands on one and do this by myself, or having other problems to deal with. may i ask you if you've had any problems with yours? 80k km of theese do need any special attention? (opening engine for swaping gaskets or something?) last question if i may, how did you took care of the Desno Warning light on the dash? Thanks Marco
@PracticalEnthusiast3 жыл бұрын
Hi Marco, thanks for watching. I wouldn't be afraid of a higher mileage bike at all. At 80k KM you'll be approaching valve check and belt replacement service. Otherwise you just have to be on the lookout for any maintenance item any bike of the mileage might need (wheel bearings, chain & sprockets, etc). The odometer does top out at 99,999 km / miles, so that does make keeping track of maintenance more difficult after that point.

@@PracticalEnthusiast hi there mate. Thank you for your honest opinion im really glad i got that from you. People often associate japanese bikes to reliability here so its dificult to hear about reliability on this bikes from people who actually work on it. If you see my Multi you’ll probably want to murder me. Almost 53k miles on it, having ride through Dalton highway towards Prudhoe Bay, AK twice and Inuvik via Dempster Highway.. the calcium chloride from these two trips is literally baked onto the bike in places I have no business messing with like you do. Perhaps I can drop the bike by you for some tlc? ❤ Excellent video, made me feel bad though
