Are you making and selling a 50mm bracket like that? I just got the big 7 for my TJ.

I’m not unfortunately. Maybe I could in the future 🤔 I’ve been meaning to recreate it with machined copper but have been preoccupied lately. I just saw your join request, welcome to the group! 😊

@@JeepTJay6 well if you ever make another or are willing to make one for me let me know because I will pay for well made pieces like that. Oh and the fuse bracket, too! I don’t have the machinery to make them.

You previously successfully modified (cut out) the PDC plastic cover in order to clear/create space & connect the copper eyelets directly to the terminal bolts? Yes? Now I see you've modified, (created) a completely different Aluminum end mount (because you discovered there would be continuing issues with Battery Access). Yes? In my case, (2004 4.0 stock location components), I'd have the same issue with Battery Access? Trying to deal with that issue and moving forward; I'd still like to cut/trim the PDC cover with a Multifunction Mini Circular Saw, (as you did), but I'll revise the location of the flat stock bracket (under) the PDC? (or) Just bag that idea and mount the fuse block on that support rod? I like your Video Inserts (which add laughter to an otherwise FRUSTRATING situation) Ha! Thank you for ALL your efforts (we'll see on my end), with the help of a good friend (a Pro). Two brains are better than one as we 'off' each other (Just Kidding) Oye Vay - Jeeez :)

Aluminum end mount? Are you referring to the L shaped attachment I fabricated to fit on to the lugs inside the PDC box? If so that bracket is actually cut from mild steel square tubing. If you dig into the video a bit I explain that the initial design's "direct attachment" as you put it worked fine but made it a little cumbersome to get the battery in and out. It had to do with the wires looping out over the battery. The revised 90deg turn down gets the wires completely out of the way of the battery. I would be VERY gentile with that circular saw. I used a dremel with a very thin cutting wheel. I initially mounted the fuse block where my oem air intake system used to be. Where yours is now. But I relocated my intake years ago. I now pulls air through my firewall from the cowl vent in front of the windshield. Google "TJ cowl intake" for more on that if you're interested. So that aluminum fuse block mount I fabricated in the video was mounted to where your air intake mounts now. That wouldn't work for your situation. However, my revised location under the PDC box should not conflict with your oem intake location. I chose not to mount the fuse block up on the grill support rod for basically the same reason that I redid the connection to PDC. I didn't want wires looping/hanging around in the engine compartment. But up on the rod should work fine if you're ok with that. BTW I wouldn't be overly concerned with the fuses blowing. I've not had to deal with that at all since my install, and I have a LOT of electrical mods going on under my hood.

@@JeepTJay6 Yes Mr. Jay a 'Dremel' is what I meant to say. I'll go over your fine videos again and continue to develop a plan based upon my own situation which is entirely stock; no winches, no lights, no water nor climbing up & down mountains and caverns LOL You're very patient and I appreciate/admire your persistance toward a feasible solution. Thank you my friend! - I'll be back with possible questions. Thank You Mr. Jay!

Hey Jay - I just had a thought: Similar to your home made 90 degree bracket; was thinking I would try to modify the old 90 degree connection bracket that connected to the PDC box: If there's enuf metal to drill out 2 holes and bolt the eyelets from the new 'Jeep Cables' directly to that drilled out bracket. Given there's no dissimilar metals, and enuf clearance for the conductors and the small bolts (which would connect the new cables to that old 90 degree connection bracket)? Your opinion please? Thank you Jay! :)

@@Archivist953 Go for it! The only reason I didn’t do that myself is because the 90deg angle idea didn’t occur to me until I got annoyed with having to hold the wires out of the way every time I pulled the battery out. ;-)

Nice work! What type of material is the square stock you used on the PDC?

It was actually just a piece of 30mm square tubing. Mild steel.

Just wow. Came across your videos after your comment in KyleSVT's big 7 upgrade. This is the tab that has held me back from upgrading because I didn't like the look/space limiting of the connection. Simple drill and tap for the socket screws? Have they held up okay or would you recommend a jam nut to anchor it? Just wondering about vibes. After checking out your other videos, you have a new subscriber. Lot of good ideas and thinking outside the box.
