On International Women's Day 2020, young women from Project O Frankston presented & produced 'This is Us' - a day to celebrate the role of young women to create change on gender equality. This is Us saw young women take to the stage and share digital portraits, immersive soundscapes and films about the ideas and issues that are important to them. The evening also included a demonstration of the Maori martial arts form, Mau Rākau. Australian of the Year Rosie Batty, MP Peta Dunkley, Frankston City Council Mayor Sandra Mayer and State Member MP for Carrum - Sonya Kilkenny supported the event.
Project O celebrates 5 years of work in 2020, working with over 800 young women across Australia. Project O backs young women aged 11-16 years to lead grassroots change in their communities, supporting them to speak up, step out and be changemakers. Project O is an initiative of Big hART, Australia's leading arts and social change organisation.
