Grand job Squire. The rough part of those mini sponges can be torn off, depending on the brand, which removes any chance of you catching your precious alloy wheels with the abrasive side. Watching the R8 series, and this detailing, has reaffirmed that I need an R8 in my life... 😊

I cheated and had mine crystal wrapped and then every square inch ceramic coated. It’s amazing if you can do it because you can literally hand wash it with a mild car soap and then either blow it dry, or I prefer to hand dry it with huge microfiber car drying cloth. It works so well with the ceramic coat that it takes just minutes! But I have got to say, your “old school “ job was fantastic. I used to do that to my Toyota Land-cruiser back in the 80’s and it would take Me eight to twelve hours to complete! Respect!

Like someone has mentioned Bilt Hamber snow foam is great. When I have finished polish stage I apply Autoglym extra gloss protection THEN I put the Carnuba wax on top so it’s only ever the wax that needs to be repeated. I appreciate that not everyone has the time. That’s all I would have done differently. Looks lovely though mate.

Sorry for the late comment, but I was and still am a fan of autoglym products but found other brands from the world of detailing. Shampoo: Bilt hamber Polish: Poorboys, Diamond White, specially for white cars. Wax: Collinite Isulator Wax gives 6 months protection. Champions combination. Give it a try

tbh if you are getting the same results as the "pros" then keep doing what your doing, but if you start to notice alot of swirls etc then i would maybe change what your doing, but from what i can see your doing a good job :)

£20 snow foam attachment, and a £20 5ltr bottle of Bilt Hamber Auto Foam - thank me later (this 5ltr will last you about 2 years washing equivalent of 1 Golf, 1 Disco Sport and 1 Transit Custom)

I can highly recommend Wax Planet products,not too expensive and they are first rate especially the lava shampoo and any wax. All made in-house too!

Your car would look good if waxed with furniture polish but yes I probably did as I've used to for years.

The writing on the back ( also available in grey ) would have scratched the paint as someone has used their finger as a marker pen with a grit/dirt based nib!!!, surefire way to damage paint.

Hi Alan, you are right there. When you fix a mechanical issue, generally it's easy to make it as good as new. With paintwork, it's a real skill to make it perfect and even new cars are rarely flawless. However I do like to protect paint, I'm not really fussed about getting swirl marks out at the expense of the lacquer's thickness etc but in between average and perfect paint there is still a lot the average person can do to improve things :)

you dont want thick snow foam anyway, you want it thinner so it brings the dirt dwn to the bottom of the car, if its too think it will stay where it is and you will end up rubbin it in to the paint
