the fact that mafuyu has to act "polite" even when talking about her problems and mental health (when rui starts talking to mafuyu about that deep inside she knows what she wants to do she just haven't realized it yet, she smiles like her "good self" and politely saying "ah, i must disagree") is terrible. she got so fuckin used to her "good polite girl" costume that she cant help but act like this over and over again even with friends

IM GOING TO SOB. Mafuyu is hurting so much in the inside and is so lost that she can't keep up her fake smile anymore. You can only truly heal from trauma and pain through others and I'm so glad she's doing it here. She's able to learn new perspectives from others and the fact that she's not alone. She doesn't have to struggle through all her pain alone. It's ok to ask someone or confide in someone. She's slowly learning/expereincing that through nightcord and her various other acquainteces. Hopefully one day her various expereinces and new perspectives she's learned can teach her that what her mom is doing isn't good for her and that Mafuyu can stand up to her mom one day. It will be a long process but she's on the right track with the people that truly care for her. I'm so so glad she dropped her fake smile and didn't bottle this emotion away too. A person can't help someone if they don't know they are in need of help but now Mafuyu needs help and people can reach out. I'm so glad

This is such a perfect interaction omg Rui had his resolution about wanting to perform with people who wanted to stick with him almost a year before this event, with WxS even starting a new issue with regards to how the other members want to face their future as individuals. Mafuyu is now at the stage where she *knows* she has to do something in order to unravel her own identity, but lacks the mental and physical ability/will to do so. Both with her mom keeping watch on her (Physical) and her lack of self-realization due to said surveillance (Mental). She just needs to realize that she can go for whatever she wants, whatever it is. As much as her entire group helps her, all of them have unresolved issues with themselves. While WxS is no different, they have much more stability with regards to self-realization (Except for Kasa but that's just Kasa). Someone as observant and as smart as Rui had caught on to Mafuyu's troubles to an extent, just like how he managed to catch on with Tsukasa during Dazzling. Thank you for going on through this thread we definitely need more Mafuyu and Rui interactions let the purple heads talk

It kinda is a huge red flag whenever someone doesn't know what *they* want to do. Usually that means they've been neglecting their wants/feelings for a long time because of someone else (family, lover etc). During that time they learned to make the desire of others their own even if they had no intrest in these. And once they ask themselves what they want to do, they've been so used to follow others that they feel lost, without anything that *they* want. At least that's what I got from that, I could be wrong.

Mafuyu’s troubles with her mother may only be on N25’s lane, but I would personally love it if she found support from other units in addition to her own. I already have a bias with Rui, so I would not mind seeing him be a hero. Scenes like the above fuel my wishes.
